We flew into Christchurch as we wanted to start our NZ adventure on the South Island. We arrived in the morning and Cathy & Grant let us check in early. Once settled, they suggested some ideas for that afternoon as well as several options for lunch & dinner . All of there recommendations were great. The location of the lodge is in a peaceful garden with a stream flowing through the back yard. We had a great night’s sleep as it has to be one of the quietest places in New Zealand. We spent the next day in Christchurch and a second peaceful night of sleep and we were well on our way to time zone adjustment and ready to explore more of the South Island. Thanks Cathy & Grant

Every Thing, I Liked where the Grouse Hotel was (Lincoln, great little town, Bus stop right outside the door, jump on to Christchurch Central, from there you can get a bus to anywhere you want.

We didn't have breakfast included, but we had our own with us. It wasn't mentioned. However, the property was excellent. Super views from huge windows. Cows and calves in view. The owner and her dog were very helpful and friendly.

We couldn’t have had a better start of our time in New Zealand. The hotel is wonderful, very nice and clean room. it has everything you need. the staff though is outstanding. Everything was great! The location is excellent, right in front of the bus stop. The service is outstanding, the bed is incredibly comfortable, and the room is spacious. The bathroom is also clean and spacious, perfect for a relaxing bath. It's the best choice before departing from Christchurch Airport.
