We loved the cosy and beautifully furnished cottage, equipped with all you need to make your stay comfortable and nestled in superb, wild nature. We admired the visit of many kangaroos, emus, birds … who were literally at our doorstep, enjoyed the fabulous fireplace in the evening. What an unforgettable experience. We hope we can come back again soon. We can highly recommend this place. You will not regret it.

Stayed in a beautiful setting just a short drive from the activities and very much enjoyed the kangaroos hanging out on the property right behind the cottage and at the watering hole. The cottage itself was great as well. Very welcoming.

Very well furnished and well equipped for a motel room. Fully carpeted. Comfortable and warm bed. Sofa, small table with 2 chairs and a writing table as well! Small kitchenette with kettle and coffee machine with pods. Good location along the main street, short distance from the town centre. Certainly the best motel room we've ever stayed in! Located in Ararat, less than 1 km from J Ward Museum, Ararat Colonial Lodge Motel provides accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. This 3-star motel offers luggage storage space. Location in itself was enough for me, Close to Main St, Woolies, Maccas, garage. Close to J ward and Aradale and of course the Grampians. Hosts were fantastic even though he didn't want to talk Cricket HA HA. Rooms was spacious and the shower was magnificent. All up great place and an even better location.

Clean, good value and exactly what is needed/expected for a road trip stay. Found the self check-in to be very convenient as took away the worry about arriving at a certain time to pick up a room key. Some reviewers point out road noise - if you are doing the Silo Trail or walking out onto Lake Tyrell then you should have no problem sleeping afterwards - need to manage your expectations here and apply a level of common sense, this is a Motel after all - you don't complain about seagulls when you go to a beach.
