Grund was a warm and cozy respite from cold and extremely windy weather. The apartment was in a fantastic location in town - a short walk from the one small grocery store, a restaurant, and a waterfall. It was also an easy drive to all the amazing sights in the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. The kitchen and bathroom were recently updated. The kitchen has all you might need to cook - including an ample supply of spices and oils to use. All in all this was an amazing place to stay for our first two nights in Iceland.

Room blackout curtain and soundproofing is pretty good and Also with amazing view and good selection for dinner.

Set in the quiet countryside of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, this family-run guest house is 45 minutes’ drive from Stykkishólmur town centre. Great staff at check-in, and the room was fantastic with a chance to see the Northern Lights. Breakfast was included, making our stay even better after a long drive!

Located in the country side, Hotel Stundarfridur offers accommodation 12 km from Stykkishólmur. This property provides guests with a terrace. There is also a restaurant and a shared lounge. The room was very spacious and clean and had an amazing view of the mountains on Snaesfellsnes peninsula. If it hadn't been cloudy and aurora activity had been high when we stayed, it would have been possible to see the northern lights directly from the window. The breakfast was amazing and an incredible value for the money. The owners were lovely and very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend staying here!

Found 23 km east of Snæfellsnes National Park, this hotel offers bright, modern rooms with private bathrooms. WiFi and parking are free. Snæfellsjökull Volcano is within 20 minutes’ drive. The most amazing view I have ever experienced in a hotel. We had a corner room with a view of the sea from 2 sides. It was incredible. Location is spectacular. Very peaceful and extremely remote. The hotel was comfortable, the room was spacious and uniquely oldy -worldy with monogrammed towels and luxurious bathrobes. It wasn’t cheap, but it was well worth it.
