The concierge team headed by Kojimasan was extremely helpful and responded very promptly to our emails. Prior to our travel, they helped made all the meal reservations & on our check in, the reservations details & its location map and car parks were all handed to us. Room was spacious and very functional. Breakfast was great with both Int’l and Japanese quality selection.

Right by the station and bus station, above an array of restaurants, next to a big department store.

Set within 27 km of Eiheiji Temple and 31 km of Phoenix Plaza in Kaga, Shirasagiyu Tawaraya provides accommodation with seating area. This 3-star ryokan offers a lift and free shuttle service. The hotel is right on the river side, we got a room with a view to the forest and the river. The room itself was very spacious, traditional Japanese style with tatami flooring. Felt very authentic and made you feel close to the nature. The staff was wonderful. The reception was very welcoming, lending us umbrellas when it was raining. Another thing that left a big impression was the food and the kitchen staff. We got both dinner and breakfast and were surprised by how kind and engaging the servers were, not to mention the food was incredible. The only regret was not staying here longer.

Located just 19 km from Kanazawa Castle, Matsusaki offers accommodation in Nomi with access to an open-air bath, a garden, as well as a 24-hour front desk. The hospitality was amazing. From the shuttle that met us at the train station, to Natalie explaining all different courses of kaiseki, to the owners welcoming us. We really appreciated the tranquility the room offered. We had a great view of the garden from our balcony. The private onsen was the icing on the cake. It was the most relaxing thing, we used it 4 times during our one day stay. All in all, I was looking for a traditional Japanese experience and Matsusaki did not disappoint.

Offering views of the Sai River, Yuyaruru Saisai’s spacious Japanese-style rooms have an LCD TV and a private bath. A fantastic property. The worst element is also its strength: it's a bit far from other places you may want to go. However, it's also right by the river, so you get a fantastic view from any room you book. Beyond having a solid breakfast and excellent rooms, what really stood out to me as a feature was the additional random items you can play around with. There's a shamisen by the front desk you can learn to play, there were juggling balls in the room to learn to juggle, and there were some lovely local sweets as a welcome gift.
