This hostel is 100% recommendable! Located right in the centre of the lovely village Ballater. Reachable with the bus from Aberdeen also perfect for those coming with public transport. The hostel itself is very cosy and clean, the common area equipped with everything you need and spacious. The hosts Dominique and Daniel are very warm, welcoming and friendly, that are happy to provide you with any tips you need. We had a great time enjoying the Highland games and the stunning nature that surrounds Ballater!

This is a hidden gem. This Guest House is alive with history and charm. It's central location in Balloter makes it an easy walk to anywhere in the village, as well as a quick journey to Balmoral and other area attractions. The town is wonderful for shopping, and the hosts are just plain delightful. Stephen makes a great breakfast, and Beth is attentive to anything you could need. Their knowledge of the area and other historical details they share may have you enticed for a bit during breakfast. Can't say enough good about them ! The bed and room sizes are fantastic. The Pub down the street is amazing and welcomes the best behaved doggies in the world. Finest food from India we've experienced was a block-and-a-half away. Wish we could have stayed longer !!

A warm welcome and happy to help with any queries. The dinner was excellent and breakfast also. Very clean and dog friendly. Will return. Booked for husband surprise birthday with other members of the family. A very relaxing stay.

Conveniently situated just 20 minutes from Balmoral Castle, this hotel is everything you can wish for a comfortable short stay: cosy room with clean shower, nice restaurant on the ground floor and nice staff who’s helpful with everything.

all expectations for location and facilities were met. staff very welcoming to a very quiet and relaxing hotel. breakfast and dinner very good, nice choice of menu. room cosy and comfortable, only negative was very compact shower and low water pressure. but overall a good find for our 2 night stay in the area close to Balmoral Estate which was our reason for visit.

We stayed in one of the cabins, which were equipped with everything you need. And located in a quiet environment apart from the hotel, without being troubled by other guests. Beds were OK but not the best, and some facilities needed some work, but the peaceful location, very close to the beautiful nature, totally made up for this. Dinnet is very small and only has a nice hiking trail around Loch Kinord to offer; however it is close to other Cairngorms places and many castles as well.

We stayed in the lodges and they were just the perfect size for the three of us, all adults. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, cutlery, cooking items, etc. We loved sitting on the large back deck each evening. The lodge was extremely clean and an excellent location right on Ballatar Road.

We stayed in the log cabins situated at the back of the property. Perfect setting, warm and cosy. Very clean and had everything needed.
