Room was great size and bathroom had curtain between loo :) great location, there is a local Caffè run by same people with great coffee and food, when we arrived we asked for scooter rental, while we were having lunch and coffee the scooter was arranged and delivered to us. Possibly the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in. In the hills above Borobudur the villas are aesthetically exquisite, a work of art in and of themselves. There is a king size 4-poster bed with mosquito netting in the middle of the room and able it a richly carved wood ceiling. The wood carving outside was also of the highest quality. It was like staying in a museum piece in its best sense. The staff are superb. Ridan and the rest of the team attended our every wish and always with a gracious and genuine smile. The food was excellent and we asked for it to be served on the verandah of our villa. Indonesian food is very sophisticated in its flavoring. Our drivers both from the airport and to Yogyakarta afterwards were efficient and helpful. A highlight was going up to Sinar Hill at 5.30am in the morning to the sunrise over the active volcano Merapi. Don't miss it. The sun rose directly over the volcano's peak when we were there. Coffee was brought to us. Afterwards we swam in their elegant pool then spent the morning in Borobudur temple complex in a VIP tour organized by the hotel. Another "don't miss it" experience. If you're coming to Indonesia, try to see Borobudur and definitely stay at Villa Borobudur Resort.

What an amazing hotel is this. The service was amazing. And so is the view over the hills of Borobudur. I read about the poor breakfast so I was a little worried. I don’t know how people think the breakfast was simple and poor. Everything was freshly made, typical Indonesian and a lot of choice and variety. If you don’t like this type of food consider stay at home with your scrambled eggs and burgers you culture barbarian :)

Love the location. You can see Borobudur from their nice open air dining area. The place itself nice too. Nice combination of traditional their house style yet good for international traveler. Good sense of home deco. From the villa you can enjoy rice field (maybe depend on the villa though) the owner, host, team are all great. Very kind, helpful. From early morning to late evening. We are happy to find this charming accommodation. Want to come back! Stay long

The best part of Efata Homestay cannot be seen in any photo or description. It is the big heart and the great hospitality of the hosts. It was a great stay with a very clean room and we would have loved to stay longer. I recommend everyone to stay several nights and also to explore the area. I can only recommend the accommodation to anyone who would like to stay in a lovely, authentic homestay.
