Staying at Sottoassisi - Guest House was an exceptional experience. The location is ideal — right in the historic center of Assisi, close to major landmarks like the Basilica of Saint Francis, yet quiet and peaceful for a restful stay. The guest house is full of charm, with beautifully preserved details and modern amenities. My room was spotlessly clean, cozy, and tastefully furnished. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was modern and well-equipped. I used Sottoassisi as a base to explore a wide range of Umbrian towns and cities, and it worked perfectly for that purpose. From here, I visited Perugia, Orvieto, Gubbio, Foligno, Città di Castello, Spello, Spoleto, and Trevi — all within a reasonable driving distance or accessible by train. Each day ended with a peaceful return to Assisi, making it the perfect anchor for my Umbrian adventure. The hosts were warm, friendly, and genuinely dedicated to making guests feel at home. They provided excellent recommendations and were always available for any questions or needs. If you're planning to explore Umbria, I can't recommend Sottoassisi - Guest House enough. It combines comfort, location, and hospitality in a truly unforgettable way.

Extremely beautiful villa with amazing customer service. The check-in was very smooth & our lovely room had great amenities and a very comfortable bed and excellent shower with very hot water. The breakfast was delicious & the friendly donkeys were so cute. All the amazing owners are very professional & have exceptional customer service skills; whereby, they were always smiling &willing to do whatever it takes to make our stay truly memorable. This place exceeded our expectations! The room and the breakfast were perfect! It is located in a peaceful area, just a 5-minute drive from the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi. The property is a well-kept medieval building in the heart of the town, right across from the San Rufino Cathedral, and from there you can walk to all major sites and monuments without trouble, the main square, bus stops that take you to the train station (5 minute wolk, which is extremely convenient), all restaurants, museums, ancient churches, the temple of Minerva, rocca maggiore (you can walk there without any trouble in 10 minutes from the property), everywhere literally. The location is excellent. Christiana and Carolina are two wonderful women with great positive energy that have created an amazing space for guests, very clean and comfortable, and are always very helpful and considerate, ready to help you with anything you might need. If there is a problem, they immediately take care of it without any inconvenience for the guest. I had an amazing stay and I would book again. There is no breakfast (since booking.com asked me to rate the breakfast) but an espresso machine and coffee are available in the hallway. There is a little fridge in each room with free water bottles.
