Perfect ski lodge for our large family. The owners were very hospitable and quick to respond to our questions and needs. We took ski and snowboard lessons with Sam, Taki, and Kotone at Nozawa and Togari, and as it turns out Taki’s wife is a world class baker who cooked up the best breakfast buns this side of the Pacific. Best place I stayed during a three week trip all over Japan. Big family runs it and every detail is amazing. You’re treated like part of the family. The food is exceptional, it’s close to the slopes, the room is comfy, there’s an onsen on site. Just so good, everything.

Well located guest house in Madarao. Staff were excellent and very hospitable. Lift to/from the main ski area each day as required but we often walked as it was so close and easy. We were picked up from and dropped off at local train stations (Myokokogen and Iiyama respectively) by a staff member. Food was good particularly the one dinner we had at Maroudo. Onsen was a good temperature. Highly recommend.

We loved our time here. Service was friendly but always efficient and professional. Everything we needed for a fabulous ski holiday was literally right at our door step. Breakfast and dinner were included and these meals were generous and catered to all tastes. The onsen experience was precious. There is nothing like the hot pool outside with snowflakes swirling down around you!

The center of Madarao resort, so location can't be beaten. We liked the buffet breakfast and enjoyed the onsen baths for sore legs. Good value for money. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely modern and tastefully furnished apartment with all the facilities you need for a short holiday with friends or family. The view was simply awesome to wake up to. Host Aki is very accommodating and helpful. The ski slopes are a 10 min uphill walk away and he can do transfers in the morning. But it is best to have a car if you are renting this apartment as it gives the most flexibility. We would stay here again next time we are in Madarao

We stayed in a 2-bedroom lodge in a quiet part of Madarao. The accommodation was warm and cosy. And my kids loved sharing their cute mezzanine bedroom. What really made the trip for us was the incredible, warm staff. Every evening, we’d hop across to the central lodge (You can get food, drinks, and entertainment there)… and the hosts made us feel like family. We’ll be back next year!

Aki’s apartments are superb - super comfortable, very well equipped, beautifully furnished, floor heating with a magnificent view of the mountains. The accommodation was perfect for our group of 6 with enough space to relax, wifi and 10 minutes walking distance from the slopes. Our stay was made even better with Aki as our host who went out of his way to look after us in every way. Coffee at Aki’s cafe also recommended.
