The machiya is beautiful, full of character, and ever so peaceful. So when a torrential rainstorm rolled in, I was very happy to have an excuse to stay indoors and soak up the beauty and atmosphere here. I had a large tatami room with enclosed balcony and a sitting room, and wish I could just move in! Delicious breakfast that kept me going until dinner time. So commuting is so easy, also it’s a ten minute walk to the Lake and the concert house. I loved the various extras for ones own usage like Slippers, Pyjamas, toothbrushes combs and towels- so even if you forget something they got you covered.
