Second time I stay here as I haven’t found something similar in Badulla. Calm place a bit out of the centre. Anyway, they have their tuktuk that gets you in the city and comes to pick you up when you call them - at a fixed price. Kitchen is OK, haven’t tried a lot though. The place is generally well maintained, clean, and the staff is pleasant.

First of all - don’t be afraid there is only 1 opinion of this place. We were the first guests welcomed in Lotus Ella Homestay for 3 nights! It’s a freshly renovated space with 2 rooms and a bathroom. All nicely done and spotless clean. There is a fan, but the temperature was good even without it. Plenty of plugs to charge electronics. Wi-Fi good, but for working online we used hotspot with our phones. I could say it’s the best stay in Sri Lanka after our 2 weeks journey! The lady owner taking care of it is an adorable woman, she makes sure you are happy with your stay and every day filling up our table with an amazing local breakfast and coffee. She doesn’t speak English but she was fine when we did Google translation in Sinhalese and played it for her. She also got a lot of boys around that speak good English in case of troubles. Location of the place is just what you need 5 minutes away from the centre of Ella and after a long day of visiting places you can relax there with all the sounds of the jungle away from the Ella’s party noise. They have an amazing garden with a place for feeding squirrels where you can spot also a giant squirrel and Sri Lankan birds. On the same street you can arrange your laundry for 500 per kg and scooter rental 2500 per day with the same guy. I would really recommend you to stay there and help the lady run her new started up business! 😊

Spacious and spotless, this was a fantastic find. Incredible value for money with a tasty breakfast and friendly hosts. Great location for our overnight stay before we took the train for Kandy. The host even arranged our tuktuk to the station.

The location, the staff and accommodation was exceptional and they did above and beyond to make our stay remarkable. The location was spacious and rooms were super clean. It is a paradise for nature lovers situated with easy access to Badulu river and surrounded by a forest. Even though we went there during a rough summer with high temperatures even outside the rooms the temperature was comparatively much better than other places. The breakfast provided was also great and had Sri Lankan and English breakfast options and tasted good.

Pick up was arranged from the Railway station at a reasonable price. We were treated well and keep our holiday very memorable one. Recommended to stay your holiday.

It is a great location with beautiful views, proximity to river. The staff were very welcoming and we enjoyed the food. The communication pre stay was good and they kindly organised our transport to the accommodation from the station.
