This homestay is run by a very kind and welcoming family -- they were the highlight for sure! We had a great time staying here for a few nights to do some hiking in Horton Plains National Park. This homestay is in a beautiful location (about 25-30 min drive from the national park's Ohiya entrance), and furnished well. The room is spacious and the bed was comfortable. The food was AMAZING! We enjoyed staying here and would definitely come back!

If you like to be outside the crowd just go there few days to enjoy hiking in the Horton plains area. You will be alone and happy in this nature. All staff is very kind. At 30mns car distance from Ohyia. Better to reach it before night as the last miles are not easy.

Absolutely loved this hotel. We arrived on a damp dreary day after getting the train from Kandy and making the very short walk from the station and were greeted with smiles and lots of piping hot tea before being shown to our room, which was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The view from the hotel was spectacular, and although isolated (there really isn't anything else in Ohiya!), the isolation gave it a charm and peacefulness that we adored. We ate supper at the hotel, a superb rice, and mixed curry (there were lots of other options), which was freshly prepared and would have fed an army (😄). Beds were comfy, shower was good (although water wasn't that warm, it was warm enough and there was plenty of it). Hotel arranged a 5.30am pick up by tuk tuk to take us to Horton Plains, which was only 30 minutes away, and provided a packed breakfast to enjoy at World's End. All in all, an excellent choice of accommodation.

For a simple authentic experience with great management and service you should stay here. Food is cooked fresh and the manager is lovely. We stayed a night and had dinner, breakfast and lunch. Rooms are simple but with a hot shower and very quiet. The other hotels near charge a lot but seem to have less soul!

One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had!! Stayed here for two nights and it was the highlight of my trip to Sri Lanka. The hotel itself is absolutely amazing. Beautifully decorated with lovely views and peaceful surroundings with many birds to see. They had recently had some wildfires nearby so apparently in normal times you can see even more wildlife than what I saw during my stay. There is also a stunning waterfall nearby (almost in the hotel grounds) that the staff take you to and that you can have completely to yourself or perhaps with a couple of locals. I also did a hike with the staff up to the mountain behind the hotel which was great. Then afternoons spent lazing in the pool, chatting to the staff and with complimentary High Tea as I watched the mist float through the mountains. There were no mosquitos in that area too which meant that they could have the large windows open (even at night!) with one whole side of the hotel open to the fresh air and views. There are only two rooms in the hotel, though they have plans to build another couple of buildings in the future (though also with a very secluded feel). I was the only one there during my stay which meant I had the whole place to myself 😍 The best thing about Capoe though is the staff. Isham, Eranda, the wonderful chef and the gardener who guided the hikes. They were all so friendly and attentive and really made my stay, especially as I was a solo traveller and they were very friendly and chatty (though also give you your space when you need it). I've never had a private butler before, let alone one that is trained in both wildlife spotting and making cocktails! Thanks so much Isham, you made my stay really special 🙏🏼 Can't wait to come back on my next visit to Sri Lanka! ❤️

If you look for nature and serenity this is the perfect place to be. The host just was great and most helpful with tipps and any other whishes. He even cleaned our car, as he thought it was too dirty!!! The food just amazing including special whishes. If you want to be out of the main tourist places and find a really beautiful place - go there!
