A very nice place to stay. We came to stay here looking forward to Yala Safari. The rooms and the staff are all very good. They gave us an amazing safari. We were lucky enough to see leopards four times on the same day. I have seen many more. We 100% recommend that you go with them if you are looking for a good safari.

Arriving at Art Yala my mouth fell open. Located at the lake with a beautiful terrace and the interior design could be found in a magazine. With the most delicious vegetarian rice & curry, a bathroom like a ballroom hall and a bed where you never want to come out made clear that my stay was too short. And the safari with the best and most friendly guide Dulitha made it complete. Thank you!

Gem of a place. As mentioned in other reviews the rooms are basic BUT comfortable and clean. For the price they are more than perfect. The setting itself was wonderful - right by the lake, surrounded by wildlife. In the evening, the host took us by tuktuk/scooter for a free tour of the lakes where we saw varans, bats, many birds including two beautiful owls !, and even a (harmless) snake. I booked my Yala safari with the host the day before and we could tell that the driver was more experienced than others. We saw all the wildlife one could see in Yala - leopards, crocodiles, varans, many birds, elephants, mongooses and even a sloth bear ! Perfect place, I'm happy I choose it.

I am so glad we chose to stay here - the host family are such genuine, warm, helpful and happy people. We didn’t get off at the right bus stop (Debarwewa) and they very kindly arranged for us to be picked up from the Tissa bus stop. Our room was wonderful - comfy beds and pillows, lovely bathroom - everything was new and spotless. There was plenty of room for us and our three teenage sons. There was a couch and coffee table where we could play cards. Susu and Jami cooked us wonderful dinners - the curries were amazing. They organised our safari and Susu woke us up with coffee at 4.15am ready for the safari. Our safari driver - Kassu - was friendly and a great driver. We saw a leopard as well as many other animals. The owners even stood out on the road with us when we left as we wanted to catch a bus - they waved it down and helped us with our bags. Nothing was too much trouble - they let us use the bicycles and we went for a fun ride into town. I would stay again in a heartbeat - my favourite place in Sri Lanka so far!

Beautiful place, well maintained grounds. Comfortable lakefront homes with a lovely porch with a beautiful view of the lake. Very caring and attentive host and staff. The breakfast is superb, the most delicious coconut pancakes. We also ordered dinner which was served to us on the veranda, the food was great and so was the service. I recommend this place!

This is the place that exceeds your expectations! All the reviews that you read is not too good to be true- it’s a real reflection from people that experienced the stay at the Elegant Lake House. From the first step you’re greeted by Randy and his exceptional service. The property is beautiful, surrounded by nature- perfect place to relax and disconnect. We definitely suggest to stay more than one night if you can, because we promise you won’t want to leave. We had a great stay with full board. The staff were very helpful. Our kids loved the safari that Yala Wild Hut helped to organize. We also enjoyed having afternoon tea up on the rock with a view. The owner also helped organize very cheap transfers to and from the accomodation.

This accommodation was one of the highlights of our trip. The owner was absolutely lovely and could not have done more for us, it was our honeymoon and he organised a sunset boat ride around the lake as a surprise for us. The food that he prepared was delicious and he clearly has an eye for detail because every single thing was just perfect. We wished we could have stayed there longer, the grounds are lovely and the pool area is so relaxing. He also organised our full day safari and packed breakfast and lunch for us.

A very good accommodation. We were very happy staying here. Very nice and clean rooms. The staff is very good. We came here by bus. They picked us up from the bus stand for free. We went on a very wonderful yala safari tour. We were given a very comfortable jeep and a very knowledgeable driver. We saw many animals. I want to say especially that we saw leopards. The next day we were given a vehicle to go to arugambay for a very low price.

The owner was amazing, very attentive and friendly - he went out of his way to make our stay special: organising us a safari breakfast, taking us to the bus station for free, making sure we got on the correct bus and offering us unexpected food before we left which was so thoughtful. The food cooked by his wife was delicious and his whole family were so friendly. The views were also amazing! We saw so much wildlife just from the balcony. This was an accommodation that we will not forget - would definitely recommend. Thank you!

One of the best accommodations we stayed in Sri Lanka. We came from Arugambay and the hotel arranged a taxi for us at a very reasonable price. The staff is very good. They also prepared a very delicious dinner for us. They gave us their own jeep to go on safari the next morning. They have a very good driver and a comfortable new jeep. We saw a lot of animals including Leopard .We went on a private full day safari.If you want to see a lot of animals, it is best to go on a full day safari. We reccomended here.

The accomodation was spectacular! Absolutely loved our 2 night stay here. Swimming pool was such a bonus, staff were so lovely and welcoming, food was really good. Staff even organized a full day safari for us, which was incredible- saw 4 leopards in one day plus loads of elephants and other animals! Definitely recommend this accommodation!
