first of all the scenery is breath taking even in Norwegian standards. But more than that- during our visit we were hosted in more than 10 locations and this was unanimously agreed to be the best place. really up there with international standards. extremely clean, the furniture and appliances are top of the line and new. a plus- the washing machine also serves as a dryer (most places don't have this and problematic for one night stays). none of this business (that is apparently very common in Sweden and Norway) for an extra fee if you want linen and towels! in this place it is part of the service and the bedding and towels were superb. the interior design is very pleasing. you can tell that a lot of thought and care was put in to every aspect. for example if a place advertises it can sleep 6 some places don't provide enough chairs and space to seat everybody at the dining area - not the case here! it was the only place we experienced that offered an instant coffee machine with complimentary capsules. This is a standard courtesy now in hotel rooms in my country but apparently not yet in Norway. a small effort that gave us great pleasure.

    Breakfast was quite nice, more than expected. The staff was so kind and funny ☺️ the room was ok but some stuff needs to be renovated. The view is just amazing! I strongly recommend you to stay!

    Super scenic spot and and excellent staff. We stayed in the motel rooms. They’re not tremendously expensive, but also not very high end 😀. Beds were good though!

    The Hjelle hotel has a long history and the stroy behind each room is quite interesting. It seems like we stayed in the room which belonged to one of the main female founders of this hotel. The current owner is very hospitable and helpful. The room itself is very clean and cozy , with a great view of green fields and lake. We all love it! If only got chance, I will not hesitate to spend a two or three days vacation here.

    First class accommodation in a simply stunning location. Friendly and knowledgeable host who gave some greet recommendations. The free use of equipment (SUPs, kayaks, bicycles) was a bonus. We had a wonderful stay.
