Ricky has a dream to make a lovely, comfortable, friendly place to stay for travellers in Caraz-and he is doing a great job of it. Our balcony private double room was a good size, nice views over town, warm comfortable bed and good hot shower with pressure. Ricky is a terrific host, smiling, happy and wanting to ensure you have the best experience possible. He helped with taxis and tours and was always willing to chat or help with anything. This isn’t 5 star- it is authentic, local guy making a lovely hostel for guests to enjoy.

I have travelled the world extensively and I was so impressed with Dina and Lorenzo's kind hospitality, they are so friendly and helpful and I really did feel at home in their beautiful home. The house is very nice, access to kitchen, the room and bed was super comfortable and spacious (I could even see snowy mountain peaks from my bed!) and the panoramic mountain views from the terrace are incredible. I enjoyed Caraz much more than Huaraz, as it's much closer to all the attractions to see! It is such a quaint mountain town and is super safe. There is so much so see nearby to Dina's house. - Laguna Paron, - Laguna 69, - Lagunas Llanganuco, - Santa Cruz trek, they helped me organise tours from Caraz easily. - Campo Santo (a tragic remnants of a town covered by an avalanche in 1970) - Pre Inca ruins literally down the road! All closer than Huaraz. - A super interesting museum with the smallest mummy in the world. They have just opened their homestay to Booking and don't have many reviews yet but I assure you this is the best place to stay in Caraz!

What a wonderful, wonderful place. We were pretty uncertain about our plans in the area and Kelly was beyond helpful, giving us (great) suggestions, booking taxis, putting up with all of our logistics so patiently and with so much care! We could not have felt more at home. I had a stressful work call during my stay which required good internet and Kelly gave me access to her office, Ethernet and was so helpful throughout. The internet was amazing! The room is big, comfortable, full of light. The hot bathtub is amazing after days of hiking. The garden is angelical and the food at the restaurant was great as well! Kelly prepared us amazing sandwiches since we couldn’t have breakfast on site. Overall we couldn’t have been happier and wanted to prolong our stay! Thank you Kelly for one of our best stays in Peru!

Really nice and clean accommodation, Yoly and her family are still cleaning something and try you to feel as much comfortable as it's possible. Also Yolly went with me to the dentist when I had problem with my tooth and it recommended me my mother when I was small child. Thank you very much!

What a wonderful, wonderful place. Kelly and Mariam are great Hosts and supported us with everything we needed. We loved the concept of sustainability and especially the great food (90% came from their garden oder producers in the neighbourhood) Mariam cooked for us. After some time of travels we felt home and could relax. But even trips to Laguna Paron or Laguna 69 are possible and even closer than from Huaraz. The room was quite big and nicely furnished, showers were hot! In a nutshell we had the best stay in Peru so far!

We had a fantastic stay at Pukayaku lodge in the beautiful and tranquil surroundings. Belissa and Jorge are such wonderful and welcoming hosts. The food was so delicious and we both enjoyed the home-brewed artesanal beer. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. We didn't want to leave!

I love Caraz. It's quiet and surrounded by mountains. I booked one night and have already stayed many more. The staff here are polite and friendly. There is a garden. A great breakfast is included. I can work and I can hike.

Very peaceful and friendly place to stay with pleasant gardens and secure parking. Large comfortable room, on site restaurant and bar. We enjoyed talking to the owner over drinks in the bar before having an excellent dinner featuring home-grown ingredients.
