Great hostess, she was attentive and polite. There's a nearby lookout for sunrise, it was just too cloudy that day. At least we didn't have to deal with the crowd in the Alishan forest area for a sunrise view. Hot pot dinner is enough for 2 people, unless you're a big eater. The red tea is delicious. They sell their home-grown tea too, it's on the lighter side for taste. Breakfast is a giant fried chicken maryland with a few bread options. Espresso machine, soy milk, teas and instant coffee are available during breakfast as well. I would return again if I visit Alishan again in the future.

Very friendly welcome, very comfortable bed, delicious and generous Taiwanese breakfast. It was close to some fantastic walks - Fenchi trail, and Cedar boardwalk. We had a wonderful view over the town and up to the mountain peaks. All staff were helpful and smiling. We stayed 2 nights and did not want to leave. Each time we returned to the hotel after exploring the area or food streets, it felt like we were coming home. Thank you to everyone at Yeashow Villa Fenqihu. I hope to return one day.

Staying here is a very excellent decision if you want to be well located to visit Alisan Park, the tea fields, Fen Chi Hu village, and all the surroundings. We traveled by bus from Chiayi and got off at the bus stop (which is only a 15-minute walk from the accommodation. You can also coordinate with the family so that they can wait for you to take you home). It is important to note that the accommodation is in the tea field that the family has worked for generations, so it is very good if you want to learn how to make "Oolong tea". In fact, upon arrival, Sian-HuaDeng (the owner's daughter, who studied "nutrition" and who also speaks English very well) greeted us with "Oolong Tea" and pointed out the differences with other types of tea (which we also tried ), so we learned a lot and we felt really comfortable and happy with his company. From the place, there are also several trails to take beautiful pictures and also, it has views of the mountain that are beautiful since they have a viewpoint next to it where you can see the "sea of clouds". For us it was an excellent experience, and we hope to return to reunite with Sian-HuaDeng and her family in this beautiful place in Taiwan that kept a little piece of our hearts.

The hotel is exactly as shown in the pictures, superbly located on the Old Street and just 1 minute walk from the bus stop (via a steep road). All the top walking trails are closeby, and even the fireflies area can be reached in less than 10 minutes late in the evening. The front desk staff all speak English and are cheerful and helpful. This hotel is famous for its bento box and dining area, and day-trippers flock here to eat lunch and take pictures. The room itself was large, warm and comfortable in the middle of winter, with a nice view over the rooftops even from my ground floor room (see my picture). It had a dehumidifier and I did not feel/smell any of the dampness that is common in this area. The bathroom was a little dated, but in full working condition and spotlessly clean. Plenty of hot water and good shower pressure and drainage. The floor dried up pretty quickly, due to the dehumidifier. I don't think there is a better place to stay in Fenchihu and I would love to come back and visit.

The best room view in my life. Outstanding hospitality and support from the host in every little detail. Achi and his wife are super cool. As a personal opinion, staying in Shizhuo (and this place) is way better than in Alishan itself.

This stay was highlight of my travel to Taiwan. Accommodation high above the village, near tea plantation with a lot of choice for walking tour. Host was very kind, prepare tea tasting for me, good breakfast included. He even let me see a tea harvesting. Equipment of room was a little bit simple, but I did not expect tree stars hotel.
