Rio Dulce
Boatique Hotel and Marina features a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Rio Dulce. 6.7 km from Castillo de San Felipe de Lara, the hostel provides a bar and water sports facilities. The accommodation offers room service, a tour desk and currency exchange for guests. It’s a pity we did not book more nights in this accommodation. We travelled through Guatemala and this was kind of a break from our tight schedule and we couldn’t be happier. The accommodation is amazing (the scenery made me forget the fact we had to share a bathroom with the other guests), and the whole staff is kind and nice. Definitely a recommendation and, if I ever go back to Guatemala, I will definitely book a (longer) stay here!

The cabana was charming, right on the Lake! The restaurant was wonderful; lots of great meal options, and friendly staff.

Facing the beachfront, El Hotelito Perdido offers 4-star accommodation in Rio Dulce and features a garden, terrace and restaurant. Offering a bar, the property is located within a few steps of Ribera Rio Dulce Beach. The hotel has a hot spring bath, a concierge service and free WiFi. The host was really responsive and attentive to our well-being. He made our arrival from Belize really smooth. The place is great. Not only a lost hotel but also a lost paradise. The room was really spacious and comfortable. The common shower has hot water. The food at the restaurant is DELICIOUS (bread is amazing, the sandwiches are gigantic 🤤)! Dinner time was the occasion to share with the nice people staying there. Thank you to all the ladies who were cooking with love! The receptionist never failed to answer our questions, help us and give suggestions about our stay. There are a lot of activities you can do (tours and getting a kayak in order to visit hot springs, natural sauna, waterfall). Also, my girlfriend loved the 1-hour massage. Staying at least three full days would allow you to see and do much.

Very good location and I was able to get a pedicure next door when I went to pay for the stay! Brilliant. Daniel was very helpful and friendly.
I loved being able to walk to and from Sendero de Bosque tropical las Escobas, it is stunning! Well worth the visit.
Mona’s cafe was recommended to me by Daniel - I liked it so much I went back every day (the mokka & mokka frappe were both really nice)
Miramar
A recently renovated campground located in Miramar, Coco Bamboo Beach Camp features a garden. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. The Camp is located at a wonderful small beach, surrounded by palm trees and mangrove forest. The whole small camp is designed were nicely and made with a lot of love. It has a very nice chill/kitchen area with a large table to get together with the other guests and volunteers. We could join the family dinner and breakfast for some extra money, which was very tasty. We did rent kayaks and went to the mangrove forest. The host Laurence helped a lot in preparing the trip and gave us a lot of information to arrive to the camp and go to Livingston. She was very helpful and kind as the other guest were. I would recommend to stay at least three nights, but a few days longer would probably be even better.

We spent almost a month in Guatemala and this was by far the MOST amazing stay and like a mini slice of heaven! The owners are extremely friendly. My husband and I enjoyed the food, amazing lake views, fishing, kayaking, wildlife, and the fun boat ride with their dog. The Villa exceeded our expectations and I wish we stayed more time.
La Viña
At the hotel, each room comes with a desk. Hotel el viajero features some units with lake views, and the rooms come with a balcony. All rooms in the accommodation are fitted with a flat-screen TV and free toiletries. When we arrived we felt like at home. All of their workers there are super nice, have a nice smile and they make everything happen that you feel super nice there. The standard of everything there is just higher than in any other hotel we have been so far in Guatemala. If it comes to the shower, bathroom, bed or any other facilities, it’s just great! Also the small details! And the best thing is really as already mentioned the staff there. This is one of the hotels where you will say in a few years, remember the „El Viajero“ in rio dulce, and you‘ll immediately remember which one it was.

Well run travellers hostel in Livingston. Accommodation is in two large airy dorms with single beds and sea views. Good all day restaurant and cafe. Helpful staff and trips from its own jetty, which is a good place to chill and enjoy the breeze.
Absolutely amazing place, surrounded by the most beautiful nature. There is nothing to do expect going on kayak trips on the river and chilling out by the bar or the hammocks - it is perfect! If you want to rest, this is the place. The dorms were neat - very spacious, protected from bugs and not too hot. I stayed alone in the bed upstairs for the three nights I was there and it was just like having a private room - a crazy cool private room. The staff was really friendly and the food was nice.
this placed is super nice. I did not visit their restaurant but I heard nothing but good things about this place. I would definitely stay here again,.
We planned to stay a few nights and ended up staying more than a week. What an amazing place on earth, but what made it really special where Luis and Victor. Because of them we felt at home and of course their food and cocktails were amazing as well! Hope to see you again guys. For a wizard rematch! And greetings to Balu, wifey and the kids.
Beautiful location on the river, the bungalows are very nice as well. The pool was great! Food is good with many vegetarian opties and not to expensive. Staff is very friendly. We have had a really good stay
Nice staff, paradise place, cosy family dinners, nice cabins, was possible to stay an extra night, good advice on getting to next destination.
A really beautiful place to stay for a few nights just outside (still walkable) of the main town of Livingston. The breakfast was good and well priced for what you get. The plunge pool was a real treat. The showers are cold and really refreshing with good pressure. Free drinking water is available there. All staff very friendly and helpful too. Our private room was clean and it’s fairly well sealed from the bugs outside.
If you are into nature, this place was amazing! They offer lots of extra things to do, hiking, kayaking trip, etc. There were so many wildlife opportunities including turtles, crocodiles, snakes, birds, monkeys..so much more! The accommodations were excellent and the food was tasty!!
