Foremost, the staffs were just so genuinely lovely - they are so nice, friendly and helpful, they always try to accommodate you, cared about how you are doing, and even arranged guides/drivers that were costumed to meet my needs. The guides/drivers they arranged were so lovely as well. You cannot just go out to eat (it’s the nature of this island - big and intact nature), but the food was wonderful, lots of selections - local Sumba food and other food - so I was very happy with having dinner at the hotel every night. I really really loved the place and the staff, they definitely helped me fall in love with the island! Truly highly recommended!!!

The room was new, spacious, and very clean. The owners are incredibly kind and love their dogs (and puppies!) - dog lovers will feel right at home here. There’s no AC, but the cool nights made it perfectly comfortable. The Wi-Fi runs on Starlink, so the connection was strong. And the food… absolutely amazing - probably the best we had in all of Sumba! Don’t miss their famous lobster soup!

Starting by the food which was incredible delicious, over to an amazing staff which were super kind, carrying and attention to the customers needs. The place itself is very quite and very unique. We absolutely recommend this place to everyone.

The accommodation offers a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, room service and free WiFi throughout the property. It's a family-owned resort, stand right by the beach. Iwan, the manager of the resort, picked us up from the airport. He speaks English well and very friendly. So upon our arrival till departure, all the staffs there, Iwan, Orfi and Angel, were so helpful and tried to make our stay convenient, and to this, we may say they did a super job. 👏👏👏

At the guest house, units are equipped with a private bathroom and bed linen. Everything! It was clean, and the bathroom was spacious! So cool how Hars is building everything himself on his property. The view of the mountains is just… wow! I stayed for two nights, but I easily could’ve stayed longer. Breakfast was also delicious, with fresh fruit from the garden! The fact that there’s no air conditioning might take some getting used to, but I slept really well — the breeze flows nicely through the room thanks to the way it’s built. I’m very curious to see how things will look in a few years with all the plans Hars still has. It’s hard to imagine this place becoming anything but a hidden gem!

The hotel is beautifully designed and in a beautiful area very close to some picturesque beaches. The staff are very friendly and attentive and make it easy to organise trips and activities so you can experience Sumba. Surf lessons are a lot of fun and the village tour and waterfall tour are both great. Cocktails were really good, as was the food at breakfast. The hotel seems to have a good relationship with the local people and seems to have genuinely benefitted Sumba.

At the resort, each room has a wardrobe. Featuring a private bathroom with a shower and free toiletries, certain rooms at Maringi Sumba by the Sumba Hospitality Foundation also offer pool view. Guest rooms at the accommodation include air conditioning and a desk. The staff here is beyond delightful, they made the stay! Helpful, friendly. The aromatherapy massage was excellent as well!
