She showed us such care that it felt like being hosted by a dear family member. The accommodation itself is spotless, beautifully furnished, nicely designed, and spacious enough to relax comfortably. We were so happy to relax by the water in a secluded area but easy to get get to by car. Breakfast is very adequate help yourself cereals, waffles, toast, fruit, yoghurts and Gail cooked some cookies, nice warm treat. Plenty to enjoy in a large bright common area that looks out onto the bay. Gail the host is a very interesting & down to earth person. Great personality. We just soaked up the serenity. Book a room with a seaview & balcony. Kickback watch the sunset with a glass of wine. Take a dip in the ocean. Sit out at night and star gaze. So peaceful. The sound of the lapping ocean is meditative. Fish or deals or something was playing in the water. Feels like you are miles away but actually close to Bantry and on the Beara Loop road. Good place to base also to break the Peninsula into two days. We came from the south, from Baltimore. I'd suggest, Drive lower section and return to the Boathouse for night two, then drive across the Pass and do the rest of the loop. Really great location. Microwave, fridge, toaster. Swimming, kayaking, hiking.
