Bedrooms were clean and beds comfortable.
The kitchen was on the groundfloor and was fully furnished, the sitting room was small but cozy and had a tv with Netflix.
The view from the window was great and the neighbourhood is lovely.
We were welcomed by The Helm employee and he was very polite and recommended us a few places to see around Westport which was just what we needed.
He also booked us in for dinner later that evening and let me tell you - fish and chips at The Helm was great!

The shared bathroom was really clean, and the room had fresh water ready for coffee and tea. The location’s great too, just a few minutes’ walk to supermarkets. And the bed and pillow were so comfortable! My only regret was having to leave early to catch a bus. If I ever get the chance to come back to Castlebar or around, I’d definitely stay here again.

Very nice welcome from Beatrice, who was very helpful throughout our stay. Lovely view from the accommodation.
A very warm welcome by the host, accommodation situated in the beautiful countryside. Mary had milk and cereal in the fridge which was most welcome. Everything was spotlessly clean. There was lots of piping hot water. The room was warm and comfortable. There was also a separate sitting room available to use. I would recommend staying with Valley Lodge as they were lovely host.
This place is just beautiful. It is like a different world and it is so relaxing to be there. All facilities and the accommodations are very unique . Also the wooden heated sauna is an experience of its own. Me and my daughter really enjoyed our stay. Someone put really a lot of effort into the place.
Breakfast was fantastic ! Great portions, delicious , very friendly staff. Grounds were gorgeous for a nice walk. Very pretty woods/paths The castle is something to see, the common rooms and galleon bars -extraordinary! So glad we stayed there. Very comfortable accommodations and updated baths/bedrooms.
