A short walk to the main station and a very central location. We were able to fortunately check in 1h early after a long and early journey without additional surcharge, unlike what is common with other hotels now. The yukata provided in room were very luxurious and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. The room was spacious by Japanese standards. I will keep an eye out for this chain hotel’s other locations in the future.

Residence Hotel Takayama Station is situated conveniently in the centre of Takayama, and offers a fitness centre, free WiFi and a terrace. This 4-star hotel offers luggage storage space. Private parking is available on site. Out of all the hotels I’ve stayed in in Japan, this one is by far the best. The room is very clean and fragrant, and has complete amenities in the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. It even has a washing machine that is easy to use. I also love the balcony - it has a great view of the train station. The staff are really nice. They communicate and respond well to questions. They even offered me extra bottled water when I requested for more. One of them also helped me with my luggage delivery even though he was on his break. The hotel is in a perfect location, just beside the bus/train station. There’s a FamilyMart nearby and everything is a short walking distance away. I really got my money’s worth. I would definitely stay here again! I had a lovely time.

This 4-star hotel offers a concierge service and luggage storage space. The property is non-smoking and is set 100 metres from Takayama Station. They seem to be going the extra mile to be liked. Clean, good location, free stuff (laundry, drinks), very good breakfast (yakatori, ice cream), large room, string shower, even Netflix for teens (don't worry, they still had to do a full hike to the top of the vulkano). Recommended.

Located an 8-minute walk from JR Takayama Station, Guest House Ouka offers accommodation in Takayama. Free WiFi is available in all areas, and guests can enjoy free coffee on the ground floor all day. Location is good (10 minutes walk from station and 10-15 minutes walk from old town). Staff is very helpful and always smiling. The facilities are very clean, there is a full kitchen and seating areas where you can integrate with fellow travelers.

Excellent location, comfortable rooms, outstanding staff!!!! Breakfast is wonderful, and the public baths were great. Lovely touches like sake tasting and yukata assistance were much apprciated.

Nestled in the tranquil Hida Mountains, Miyama Ouan Kyoritsu Resort offers traditional accommodation featuring hot spring baths and nature views. All guest rooms are fitted with wooden furnishings, providing a perfect haven for relaxation. The property offers free pick-up shuttles from Hirayu Onsen bus stop, a 3-mintue ride away. Food was excellent, hot springs were relaxing and well maintained. Extra amenities such as free sake, beer/wine, late night ramen, and live music was very appreciated.
