In our experience the staff was very helpful and the other guests were very respectful and quiet. We slept like babies! Very comfortable single beds and they offered extra blankets. They offer suggestions for dinner in the village but in case of emergency there are also snacks and instant noodles sold there. Anyone can use the kitchen facilities too! Also the gym of the high school is open to use :) Clean toilets and showers!

Takayama sits just below them on the river and has lovely streets to wander. Restaurants galore.

This 4-star hotel offers a concierge service and luggage storage space. The property is non-smoking and is set 100 metres from Takayama Station. The room was absolutely huge, more like an apartment than a hotel room. Very clean and well-facilitated. Staff spoke good English and were friendly and welcoming. Takayama is tiny so everywhere is walkable but still, the location is great, just a 30-second walk to the train and bus station.

This resort is amazing! The different pools are very hot and comfortable and the atmosphere is so relaxing... The view from the restaurant is amazing and the japanese breakfast very good (miso soup was incredible! Gnum!!!). And in the evening you can join the other guests for free ramen (gnum!)

The staff was SO friendly, dinner and breakfast were amazing and the place itself was new and tidy. Our room also had insanely nice views to the mountains. Would definitely recommend and visit again.
