Founded in the 12th century and beloved by Junichiro Tanizaki and other Japanese novelists, Tosen Goshobo is the oldest of the hot-spring inns at Arima. Standing beside the Taki River, it features outdoor hot-spring baths and traditional in-room meals and is a 5-minute walk from Arima Onsen Train Station. The Japanese rooms have traditional futon bedding and a minibar. My parents and I have enjoyed everything there. Highly recommended place to chill and relax with partner, friends and family. It's not only about the gold spring, but also about the delicious Japanese food, amazing staff and services, and the best coffee we've ever had in Japan. Wish I can get a hint of where to buy it lol. Many thanks to this fantastic place. We love it!

The rooms themselves are lovely, the perfect size, and very very clean. The owner, Raeko, is an absolute delight, and is incredibly kind and easy to talk to. I would happily stay again just to see her alone! The location is perfect, right next to the gorgeous temple and the Main Street.

The rooms and facilities are very well designed and made you feel like home. The best part of this hotel is the manager, Hiro san, who worked so hard to make sure that you will have a nice stay. Highly recommended.

The staff were incredibly helpful and very lovely - they were able to accommodate our limited Japanese and spoke very good English. The room was definitely more of a hotel than a hostel, you have your own space and bathroom, and a window with a view of a temple - from which you could hear the drums of an early evening. It was beautiful ☺️

Amazing host, always reachable and helpful, fantastic accommodation with Karaoke and BBQ (Optional, you get BBQ and camp fire set, also pizza oven as well) . View was beautiful and calming.

The view of the mountain from the windows were exceptionally. We were surprised that it can sleep 6 while we only have 3 people
