Room was huge and we could use the kitchen and living room downstairs. The host came to pick me up at the train station and offered to drive me back next morning, and also presented a gift of a bottle of sake. Very satisfied!

Its location is perfect for exploring the Echigo-Tsumari Art Festival, and there are plenty of onsens (hot springs) to enjoy nearby.We didn't even use the shower, preferring the onsens! ​The house itself is a hidden gem, a testament to the owners' wonderful aesthetic sense. It's filled with beautiful old and antique Japanese treasures. It is clean, well-maintained, and truly a piece of art in its own right. Above all, the owners were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our visit.
