Her Guesthouse is super clean and spacious and the beds r so comfortable. And most of all the lovely cats that accompanied us. We miss them!

The private onsen across the street is incredible, I had it to myself every night, and there is an option for breakfast. The room was perfect for two of us, and Papa was so kind to drive us to and from the Myokokogen station and the mountains, and also on some errands which was so kind. It feels like you are stepping into a place that can’t be created, a piece of personality.

Property staff will kindly assist guests with planning their trips to Minamiuonuma. The owner was the kindest person I have ever met. We went to this hotel with a small group of friends as we were participating in a spartan race taking place in the vicinity. The owner offered to give us a free shuttle service to go from the Echigo yuzawa station to the hotel upon arrival (for both groups that arrived at a different time), as well as from the hotel to the spartan race location and back the next day. He also allowed us to come back to the hotel to have a shower after the race, after our check-out time and free of charge. He finally also gave a ride to the station again. This was a life saver given the state we were in after the race. This is probably the best service I've ever seen in my life. The room was a nice Japanese style room for 3 people, with shared bathrooms for the floor, but there are enough stalls that this is absolutely not a problem. All in all, I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in a cozy little room and just to meet the amazing person the owner is.

They speak decent English, but also have good systems set up with WhatsApp and Google Translate and nothing is too much trouble. The onsen are beautiful and the food in the restaurant is just delicious.
