A buffet breakfast is available at the accommodation. Comfortable but with very tiny rooms. Unusual experience {which we liked} for a big hotel is that you must not wear shoes at any place in the hotel. All floors are carpeted with tatami mats, which are beautiful, but since this hotel caters a lot to tour groups, the front doors become jammed when a bus comes in and people must remove their shoes. Tour groups also bottleneck at the elevators and restaurant. Breakfasts looked great, but we wouldn't go when tours were lined up. Excellent coffee always available. Outdoor onsen was tiny (maybe 3 meters by 3 meters). Indoor onsen was large enough, but not hot enough. Great location with lots of restaurants nearby. Fantastic English-speaking staff. Dormy's HR Dept know their stuff. We'd stay again, despite the small rooms and small onsen. Visit the very old downtown onsen, Takegawara, , a must, and the seafront walk, Good bakery (Mermaid) at the train station. Liveely downtown area.

We stayed at Mangetsu room and it was amazing. The room is very clean and equipped with everything I need. The outdoor onsen is open air but still very private, it's totally recommended for couple. Staffs were very helpful and kind too. One more thing, don't turn away just because you see they don't serve dinner or breakfast in room. They do it with purpose that you will get the best view when you are eating. We wished we can stay longer and will come back someday.

The property is around 8 mins walk from the nearest convenience store, but being a bit far away from where all the tourists are was actually a positive point for me!

Ideally situated in the Yufuin Onsen district, this hotel provides a spa and wellness centre, as well as a hot spring bath. The property is non-smoking and is located 25 km from Beppu Station. This is THE best place in Yufuin. It was really easy to check in. Yes it's a bit further away from the city centre which makes it a bit more difficult to get to if you don't have a car (you can walk it or take a taxi up there) but it has the most epic view of the mountain. There are two onsens that everyone at the hotel can use, but they are effectively private as once you are in them you lock the door and you can have them to yourselves. The water is fantastic. Refreshing and makes you feel very relaxed. I would stay here at the drop of a hat again. Also make sure you walk up to Oogosha shrine (only 5 mins away) where you can get the experience of visiting a HUGE cedar tree temple and a bamboo forest that is 10x better than Arashiyama.
