The host provided extremely clear and useful instructions on things to do and even took us to see night-time cherry blossom bloom and to the Takeo shrine. In the morning the host and her husband took us to the Takeo station so we didn't get soaked in the pouring rain. The beds were also extremely comfortable and we both slept so well and it was quiet, we could only hear the sound of rain.

The outdoor swimming pool is beautiful, large enough for a little swim, with views right on the seaside and the celebrated local pine grove. You can easily go from beach to swimming pool. We were well received and kindly upgraded to a huge, luxurious room; every comfort you can think of was there. The circulation from bedroom to onsen to swimming pool can be complex, but we were given an English language map that greatly helped. This was our second stay in Karatsu, and we'd love to come back and stay in Karatsu Seaside Hotel another time !
