Great value for a hostal style accommodation in a ski resort. The bunks are double size with warm blankets. The bath downstairs is a welcome retreat after skiing if you don’t fancy the 7 min walk to the local onsen. Well worth it. Check which one with Rio. The ryokan has family rooms as well as facilities for disabled guests. Great all inclusive especially for beer enthusiasts. The room had a lot of space even with the futons laid out. We enjoyed the open air bath in the room and the private onsen. The meals were fantastic especially the dinners.

The guest house has family rooms. Fantastic location, right on Uwanodai slope - actual ski-in ski-out. Host was extremely friendly and helpful, the food in the restaurant was great and good value. Nice draught beer! Shower in room with a shared hot bath that could be booked for free. There's a ski/boot room in the basement that opens onto the slope. The decor is a bit dated but in a very charming way.

The traditional accommodation was simple, beautiful, and full of charm .Bus stop and great food spot just across the street. I truly didn’t want to leave. What made it even more special were the two amazing women who run the place with such kindness and care. I felt at home from the moment I arrived. I will never forget my time here.
