The area is popular for cycling, and bike hire is available at the homestay. The hostel is very well organised, the staff is very knowledgeable about the Colca Canyon. We were backpack hiking for two days and we got great recommendations from the Pachamama staff about which hike to do and where to sleep. Originally we planned to sleep in a tent, but we were very glad that we have followed their recommendations and left the tent at the hostel and slept at Llahuar Lodge instead. The hostel goes quiet in the night around 9-10 pm and starts to get busy around 6 am, which for us worked perfectly. The room was warm and the shower was hot. We were happy about the transport that they offer from Cabanaconde to Cusco. There is also a little store at the hostel were you can find different paintings, pottery and so on made by local artists. It is a great place to find some special souvenirs.

My only regret that we had enough time to stay only one night, otherwise we would have definitely stayed longer. I couldn't imagine how much effort and love was put to built such a wonderful place in such rough area. Amazing views, delicious food, super comfortable bed.

Im glad I stayed for a few days, thats how you can appreciate every little thing. It should not be rushed, go with the pace.
