There is free private parking and the property features paid airport shuttle service. excellent accommodation in utende village. the staff is super friendly, attentive and helpful. the rooms are beautifully done, breakfast is fresh, delicious and more than enough. the dinner for 12$ is reasonably priced, you get a starter, a main and drinks and it‘s delicious. keep in mind that you‘re staying in the village and not on the beach. they lend you bicycles for the 5 minute ride and the drive is really nice. if i ever return to mafia i‘d stay there again. asante tena:)

It’s a beautiful serene place with a beautiful pool area and delicious food as well as great apartments. The people working here are super friendly, beyond kind and helpful. Even during a medical emergency they remained calm and supportive.

The hotel and staff were both excellent. Hotel room was clean and comfortable. Pool was great and plenty of lounge chairs with sun and shade. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast made to order and plentiful. Dinners also tasty.

There is a fully equipped private bathroom with shower and free toiletries. Meremeta Lodge is a very beautiful place in the Western side of Utende. Wonderful rooms and a spectacular lobby/restaurant. The owner is almost always present and super friendly and supportive, as is the rest of the staff. Our room had an AC which was a blessing. Breakfast was self-service but super tasty. Generally, the food was really nice and varied. Well spiced. And super tasty desserts! It is possible to borrow bicycles to get around, which is super helpful as this place is not located directly at the beach. However, you get there really quickly by bike, and the upside to the location is that it is rather quiet.

Chole Mjini Treehouses Lodge offers unique tree house accommodation on Chole Island in the heart of the Mafia Island Marine Park. The property has a dive centre.

The partly open and thatched tree houses are locally crafted and offer magnificent sea views. Each comes with a balcony, seating area and mosquito net. The bathrooms are fitted with a shower. Plenty of activities to keep you entertained. Perfect for winding down after doing safari. Definitely worth a visit. The owner has done so much to help the locals which was lovely to see.

The accommodation offers airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. Beautiful bungalows with a huge garden directly in front of the beach. All the bungalows have a big glass front where you can see the garden and at some locations the beach. Incredibly nice staff - try to help and accommodate wherever they can. Could change the room without problems as I needed AC to be able to sleep (March can be incredibly hot and humid). Even came back to the hotel after diving on the other side of the island. Everything seems a bit rustic as first but you will definitely fall in love with it. There is a really really nice gift shop with handicrafts on site - really nice woman from the village, definitely one to support. The locations to the beach is super close and to the left there are two more hotels you can go for dinner or a drink. People all know each other on Mafia and help you with everything! :) Breakfast is great!
