We had a truly wonderful stay at Kimulimuli Green Heaven. The Mawimbi bungalow is very clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed with great attention to detail. The outdoor bathroom is absolutely magical, immersed in nature. We slept peacefully every night, lulled by the sound of the waves from the beach just below. The welcome from Antonia and Hamisi was exceptional : warm, attentive, and always available. And a special mention to Warda, who prepares breakfast: she is an amazing cook, always smiling and full of good energy. We highly recommend this place and would love to return asap :)

The location itself is very nice, staff and owners are very friendly, the whaleshark tour was good (the weather was bad and we didn't see whalesharks but they really tried their best).

Basecamp is a beautiful place to stay on Mafia Island! The property is so stunning with views of the ocean and access to the beach. Our stay was very comfortable with lovely beds and bedding, our room was very clean and recently updated. The staff were all extremely welcoming and tended to our every need. We were greeted with a coconut to drink out of upon arrival as well as some local fruits. The breakfast was great with freshly made eggs however you like. The lunches and dinners were also really tasty. There is a bar at the pool, beach and restaurant which was convenient. The pool has a nice view of the ocean as well. The shuttle service from the airport was timely and convenient. We saw whale sharks snorkeling! We had our laundry done and folded, which was great. Our room was upgraded free of charge as there was availability, which was such a nice surprise as it has never happened to us before. Overall an amazing stay at a beautiful hidden gem, book it!!

Coconut Mafia Island Bungalows bevindt zich op 6,1 km van Rufiji Mafia Kilwa Marine Reserve, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, een terras en een gedeelde keuken. We just finished our 3 day stay in Mafia and at Mafia Island Bungalows : it was a lovely stay, all-round : beautiful space for the house, comfortable terrace, perfect bedroom (Upendo - very nicely decorated with local flair, loved it), great bathroom… everything fine! The place is overall very quiet as it sits a little away from the road at the entrance of the Marine Park. We did not meet the owners, who where on a trip off the island : however, they took the time to check-in with us every single day, and it was much appreciated. We also would like to adress a great shout out to the staff : Hassan was very available, without being « too present » / just the right balance; and there is an amazing Chef on premises: we loved the breakfasts and even more the diners! The homemade bread and Chapatis, the soups, the mains and the deserts… everything was delicious ! Well done, we whole-heartedly recommend staying with you when visiting Mafia and hope to come again one day ☺️

The property is very new, everything is neat and clean. I felt very sheltered and welcomed. The air conditioning worked perfectly. The rooms are very spacious and have high ceilings. The pool is clean and has a beautiful illumination at night. The restaurant is excellent. I liked that it has prices in shillings and not in dollars, and that locals (those who can afford it) come here for dinner. They are really devoted to offering good service not only to tourists but to returning customers. This place makes an excellent stopover, since it's just a 5 minutes walk to the airport.

What an unexpected gem at the end of our holiday. It only has 3 rooms with amazing view and lovely staff. Our 3 year old daughter loved Ali who was so kind to play we her constantly. We stayed here 3 nights which was perfect because it is very secluded. Perfect for chill and some excursions. Food was lovely too. Thanks all!

This is a very new place focussing on diving excursions with two very well equipped cabins. It is situated in the beautiful marine park area where scuba diving is exceptional. The area is not overrun by tourists and the cabin is a very cosy and restful place. Enjoy one of the evening cocktails, prepared by the friendly staff or relax at the poolside. The small resort arranges shuttle service to and from the airport.
