The hotel is likely the best in Porto Alegre with respect to quality and luxury, from my taste even better than the Hilton. So, room quality, sleeping comfort, service, interior, outside area and breakfast are best. For a very reasonable price.
The one "but" is the location. You cannot simply walk off to some nice neighborhood, as there is no neighborhood. On the hand, it is very close to or actually at the airport, and the even provide a free shuttle. So it really depend: If you are looking for the best hotel in Porto Alegre, this is it. With the additional pluses of closeness to airport and reasonable price. But if you want to stroll around for some coffee shops or shopping in some nice Porto Alegre neighborhood, you might prefer a hotel say in Moinhos de Vento or downtown.

Porto Alegre used to be our hometown, and it was good to be back. It was amazing to see the "resurface" from the flooding about 18 months ago. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the Cais Embarcadero, a collection of restaurants and food trucks right at the tip of the city peninsula in the Rio Guaiba. The place is located in a fenced compound with security personnel all around.

Porto Alegre is a great city.
Porto Alegre is a great city. It is nice to see that the areas affected by 2024 tragedy have been completed restored. Food is superb. The meat is specially superior to other places in Brazil. The parks are well maintained, downtown still has a comercial stance. I could find great food shops as well as fine restaurants in Mercado Público. The Guaíba margin contains a nice park besides restaurants and bars. Downtown has several historical buildings and bookshops.

The historical city center it´s must see. The Gaíba rive shore is amazing. Porto Alegre, like any other big city in the world, have itís problems, but the place deservs a visit, including the nearby cities of Gramado and Canela.
