Beautiful and specious apartment. We spent the weekend here, and had no complaints. The kitchen is big, everything is in place, and has an induction cooktop. Bedrooms are great, have comfortable mattresses and enough space. Bathroom is beautiful, has a big shower and sink. As for the location, it is convenient, as it only takes 20 minutes to Airport.Price is reasonable for what you get!

We arrived at the apartment after an 11 hour drive feeling pretty tired. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and well appointed with plenty of facilities but there was a problem with the heating which wasn’t working in any of the rooms. As it was an autumn evening, it was quite chilly and we definitely needed heating. We contacted our wonderful host Deorat, who was understanding, apologetic and very quick to respond. Within 10 minutes he had got into his car and brought over powerful, portable heaters which did the job very well. Deorat is kind and considerate and the flat is great for a stopover. Definitely recommended.

It is a nice little town.
It is a nice little town. I only stayed here to be close to the airport since I was attending a conference in Basel.
The afternoon and first night after arrival I had a nice lunch at the bar in town and dinner at the Italian restaurant.
People are very friendly and helpful at the town.

I had only one night there and my flight was at 7.00 in the morning.
Breakfast buffet was ready at 4.30, when I came downstairs, so it was possible to have coffee and to eat something.

I am French so I was happy to stay in France while visiting Basel. Because of the poor experience we had in the apartment, we moved to another one in Switzerland. We found a very charming village with beautiful architecture and nature around. Switzerland must have been wealthier than this part of France for a long time and it shows.

If you stay in Hégenheim, France, to visit Basel, Switzerland, and you rent a car, you will have to pay an extra daily fee to cover the multiple border crossings you will be making, and the fee is not insubstantial. In addition, I heard that local taxis will not cross the border. I did not experience that, but it's something to ask about and be aware of. I don't know if the no-border-crossing issue affects shared-car services like Uber as well. Crossing the border with your own rental car is problem-free, as the border crossings are not restricted or controlled in any way. However, be aware that a pass needs to be used to park in some parking lots, such as at shopping centers where supermarkets are located. The rental car agency may provide you with the pass for free, but you have to figure out how to use it.

Basel was a nice surprise. A lot of old world charm, great traditional bakeries and coffee houses. The transportation is super with trams and buses running frequently. It felt large enough without being touristy. The fine arts museum is top notch h with some great artists represented.

If you have an early morning flight then make sure not to rely on Uber. Book a taxi in advance. I very nearly missed my 6am flight (which was a reschedule after a cancellation the evening before) as there were NO Ubers around at 3am. I was lucky I didn't need to check baggage otherwise I would definitely have missed it. You cannot walk to the airport from here - even though it is right next to the airport - which is massively frustrating.

Wonderful German town, at the border of France and Switzerland. We could find most everything we needed nearby. Most people were friendly. Dinner at Paparazzi was good. Tram stop across the street was great for direct access to Basel. Ticket machine was right there as well
