Lufingen is a nice small village near Zurich Airport.
Lufingen is a nice small village near Zurich Airport. The surroundings villages can be easily reached on foot, with nice walking paths and views. It's a really good transit place if you're travelling via Zurich Airport, highly recommended if you like a quiet stay outside of city.

Wallisellen is rather for a non-touristy stay. The highways around and across the place are very nicely developed, as well and the many train trails and bridges. The noise is too stable to be bothering. Shopping centres are there too. Good connection with other parts makes it quite OK though. It should be no more than 20 minutes to get the centriest place in Zurich from anywhere in the area.

Nothing to see in Rumlang. Just a good place for a hotel stay to catch a flight out or to recover from a flight in. Good proximity to the ZRH Airport, with most hotels offering shuttle services. Best places to stay are at the Moevenpick (CHF 33 Breakfast, but a good one) or the Holiday Inn Express (Free B'fast included)

My wife and I would have loved to enjoy Zurich but we only used the airport for arrival and departure. We rented a car to enjoy Switzerland and I can tell you that the roads were nice and well documented. We also found the airport to be efficient and the staff very friendly.

My review of Kloten ?? I am European but live in Bangkok for the time being. After a 12 hour flight from Bangkok to Zurich with a late evening arrival I need a hotel one night stay over for my flight further on the next day. Thus I know Kloten just from the air by landing and take off

Not a great part of lyric to stay in if you're just there overnight. Yes, it's relatively close to the airport, but not close enough to walk there. And, it's a little bit Shady at night. There is prostitution visible on the streets.
