The hotel is so conveniently located within the airport. We arrived late at night and had a 6:30am flight so it was perfect. The room was everything we needed it to be for a quick rest before traveling onwards the next day

Very clean and close to the airport. Keep in mind that if you walk and travel with luggage it can be a bit exhausting to get to the hostel if there’s snow on the ground. Shouldn’t be any issue to walk the distance in summer for example.

Located 11 miles (17 kilometres) from central Helsinki in the city of Vantaa, Helsinki-Vantaa Airport is the main international gateway to Finland and the busiest airport in the country. There are two direct train connections from Helsinki Airport to the city centre, I-train and P-train, departing every 10 minutes. You can also take the 615 bus or the Finnair City Bus to Helsinki Railway Station, running every 30 minutes.

Vantaa was a good place to stay out of Helsinki with much reasonable prices. The aviation museum is a must see and spent half a day there. The mall near the hotel was very good and spent a whole day there. We used Vantaa as a break between trips but would spend more time in future.

Excellent location, in the city, but still very peaceful and quiet. Woke up to bird song! Went for morning runs on the riverside and through fields - and then took the 15-minute trainride to Helsinki city centre. Great!

Helsinki is a beautiful city.
Helsinki is a beautiful city. I have been during the summer time multiple times and now during November. It has different weather in November and even shorter days but still a beautiful charm. Immerse yourself with the culture and always treat the Finn's noice and you will end up having a nice conversation and enjoy their beautiful city!
Try the salmon soup at Kappeli on the Esplanade.

Our primary reason for Vantaa was our need to be at the airport very early. The public transport runs super efficiently.
We bussed into central Helsinki using 2 routes and both were excellent. Bus stops literally outside the apartment block.
The train station is a brisk 10 minute walk away and again super service for Helsinki, the airport or connections to wider Finland..
Locally there's a a couple big supermarkets too.

At this time of year, late April, some of the tourist options dont operate as you might expect aka Hop on/off bus isnt that until into May, (convenient Tourist information at Senate Square in the City Centre. )Olympic Museum may be of interest but wont take that long to look round. Seems if you want the Salmon Soup you had better think about that early on a cold day - initially looks expensive but the pictures show large chunks of fish. Lake Tuulusa can be reached by bus from Kervo rail station - had as short stay there. Harbour boat trip was chilly so went inside after halfhour.

Wonderful assortment of places to visit and to appreciate the Finnish culture. Lots of opportunity to be with nature and walk in many different environments. Coastlines, lakes, urban city scape, combined with new and old buildings create a brilliantly different feeling from home. Museums are for everyone's taste, whether it be art, music, deign, technology, natural history or people's personal homes & collections. Parks, Botanical gardens and open spaces are abundant and create a balance between city and nature. Birdlife is oddly tame and welcoming! The music hall provides a fantastic performing space for the Sibelius Academy students and all their concerts are free, at varying times of the day and week. The rock church is also a great venue for many different concerts as well. The zoo was a wonderful walk and has a fabulous range of animals to suit every visitor, enclosures having the space for full roaming and care needed. The tower at the Olympic Stadium is a brilliant viewing platform to the whole city and one worth a visit. Both librairies are free access at any time of day for quiet sit down or even access WiFi. There are many churches and two cathedrals of beauty and worth a mention. A fabulous place for a visit.

my friend and I spent four nights at HEL, 2 nights at Bob and 2 nights in another four star hotel.
I would say, 10 is not enough to score Bob: best location, best staff, best facility.
I would definitely choose Bob again when in HEL or other cities!
