Conveniently located over the road from Santas village. It was nice and warm and had everything we needed for a comfortable night. A nice touch was the projector in the bedroom so we were able to watch Netflix. It was fairly basic and didn’t have a shower, but for one night it was fine for us. Instructions to access the caravan were fairly easy to follow if you use the translate function.

Mari is the best host! We were first nervous to pay directly outside of booking.com platform but Mari was super patient with us, and ensured us about the security. Place is exactly like it shows in the photos, no surprises. Location is amazing, right in the village. Mari also provided us with groceries, supplies every single day for breakfast, whatever we asked for. Apartment was cleaned every single day. We couldn’t have asked for a better place, host and experience.

Mari the owner was so helpful.
Every detail was considered and if we needed anything at all it just a message away and then arranged.
Location was amazing, just 3 mins walk to Santa’s office.
And all the other activities were within 5 mins walk.
The apartment was totally stocked with all the food that we could possibly want or need.
The fire was set every day for us so just a match to light it.
Totally recommend this place to anyone.

Locating right next to Santa Claus Village makes it really convenient to explore around. Clean and beautiful room with private sauna and even outdoor jacuzzi available was just impeccable. We were lucky enough to see tinge of aurora through glass roof that night as well.

Amazing nature. Too much ads about all the hassle activities. Just 15 min out from city there is amazing nature!
People were friendly welcoming and honest. Spoke good English. Restaurants clean and menus in English.
With taxi have to be very careful.

Busy town when we visited (between Christmas and New Year)...
Busy town when we visited (between Christmas and New Year) which looks lovely lit up with Christmas lights. Loved the fireworks at midnight on New Year’s Eve. We avoided Santa Village (all adults in our group) had a ski lesson and sauna/outdoor swim which was an experience! Visited the museum, wished we had longer there as lots to see/learn.

We loved feeding reindeer at the Santa Claus village and heating sausages on the outdoor fire, along with drinking hot chocolate! We loved the 2km husky sled rides too and the hiking trails in Vattunki Wilderness resort. Glow in the dark arctic mini golf was so fun too as was enjoying the views over the river in the snow. We also loved the Sushi buffet in Luckiefuns! We were sad to miss seeing inside the church though!

We booked different activities like cross country ski, snow shoe hiking, sleigh ride with snowmobile and a day trip to Korouoma canyon frozen waterfalls which was great. There is a free walking trail just on the edge of the city called Ounasvaara Winter Trail, which is fantastic. I would not bother with Santa Village as its just a shopping center area with a santa hype, crowded and pricey. Finland is generally expensive but so beautiful in the snow it was definitely worth going. The town can be explored on foot easily and transport to airport is by bus. Just be aware there is not much entertainment there, so planning to be busy and booking group experiences to be active in the snow is probably best.

Our stay in Rovaniemi was magical and beautiful. We came to spend Christmas here and it lived up to everything, until it was time to leave.
Our flight got cancelled due to the weather. The airport was an absolute nightmare. We had to arrange last minute accomodation, which was a struggle and many people had to sleep at the airport.
We came back early the next day, and were stuck at the airport again the next day, all day. Lack of communication, organisation, facilities, they ran out of water.
Take this into consideration, I would never come back for this reason. Our stay was great, but we lost two days in London because we couldn't get out.
