What you need to spend the day making excursions and hiking around the island. Rooms and beds are super comfortable, warm and welcoming. Even if as an Italian prices in Iceland are quite high for me, I found the price very fair and the service outstanding. Don’t miss your chance to stay at the Básar Guesthouse while on the island. Featuring a private pier and an impressive sea view, Tungulending Guesthouse is located 13 km outside of Húsavík village. Relaxation options include enjoying a drink at the bar. Breathtaking views- clean, comfortable. Location on the water - we saw humpbacks in evening and orcas in morning with fresh brewed coffee. The family that owns is friendly and relaxed! Lots of large washrooms- this was never an issue. We had small car and had no trouble with road to house.

The garden and cottage style decoration of the cabin is just magical! We arrived late and got right into the hottub, outdoors and with great view of the garden. The cabin is a very small space but used wisely, did not feel cramed at any time and it even has all the essentials to cook a quick meal. Highly recommend it for a short stay and for couples. Helen is a lovely host, very charismatic and caring.
