I was very pleasantly surprised by my stay at this guesthouse. After requesting, we had the option of an earlier check-in which was really great. Check-in was easy thanks to the information that came in the message. The room was clean, cozy, towels and a hairdryer. The private bathroom is a big bonus. The room also has a fridge, coffee maker and kettle. There is a kitchen with dishes and a storage room for suitcases downstairs if you need them. Quick arrangement. Perfect location two minutes from the bus station, about 10 minutes from the center, 5 minutes from a beautiful park. We will definitely be back.

Perfect location, close to bus to KEF airport. The room has everything, it was the only room on Iceland with full kitchenware and possibility to cook. The room was very big and clean. 15 minutes to the famous church by walk

Everything was great. This place is on perfect location, not far to center like 15min walk but because of tours and bus for airport is great. It has a big area inside where you can enjoy. Also all stuff are very friendly:)

homely feeling. well-equipped kitchen. very clean room. everything you need. as a solo traveler I'm happy to get a room just for myself for a similar price, instead of a room in a hostel that you have to share with several roommates. wonderful warm blanket. you can feel that the hosts respect and unobtrusively take care of their guests.

Quiet neighborhood, lovely genuine guesthouse, plenty of free parking, decent breakfast including great handmade bread. I stayed four nights in Reykjavik and unfortunately only one of them was at Alba; I now wish I had booked all of them there. The couple running the premises were just great. I don’t know where all those comments about the “grumpy old man” come from, but my guess is that you must have been a real piece of work to make that lovely man lose his temper.

The place was quite good, especially for center of Reykjavik, 20 min away walking distance, and it’s very close to Perlan Museum(5/6mins). The front man named Fathi was really approachable and super nice person for everyone. He even recommended us which supermarket is cheaper to stock some foods. The room is comfortable. The kitchen was good, and can even wash our clothes. Highly recommended for people who look for a cheaper place. Don’t be choosy or picky since it’s a ‘HOSTEL’ not a HOTEL. Bring your own towels. 5 nights staying in SM Hostel was amazing.

The apartment size was perfect. We travelled as a family of four and there were two double bedrooms and a sofa bed. The toilet/sink and bath tub are in seperate rooms which was convenient when needing to use with other members. The balcony was decently sized and the kitchenette had more than ample facilities. They also had a coffee machine which was a nice touch. The best thing about this place was the hosting for sure. Any and I mean any issues/queries we had, they responded so fast and promptly and sorted everything out for us. It really made a difference. The property was clean and the beds are soooo comfy. The location also is perfect, 20 mins from everything including the BSI bus terminal, central Reykjavík, the harbour etc.

I couldn't drive and couldn't figure out the bus system. One tour promoter I asked gave me misinformation. Hadn't thought about the shortness of daylight, probably would have enjoyed spring or summer better.

ive already answered these questions twice. we paid for a superior room and got one. Neighborhood is out of the way but has great views and animals and is near the road to Costco. we spent 2 weeks driving the entire island and enjoyed it. This place has a theme tastefully done and modern amenities. The Viking Hotel restaurant where you check -in has a nice themed restaurant good food and service.

This is one of ,,those,, accommodations where you want to spend the night after a week full of traveling. It is clear that the owner has a sense of detail and quality. You can feel the quality on the materials and furnishings, the equipment of the entire apartment and the services that are here. Everything is still new, clean. Situated in a quiet location. We slept very well! Parking in front of the entrance, Accessibility anywhere is perfect. Since it is new here, the accommodation does not have any review and even though I usually do not write reviews, I think this one deserves one. For the price, it is exclusive accommodation and we will definitely come back here.

Hafnarfjorthur was between Keflavic and Reykjavik making it quite handy and more affordable to stay at. We rented a car to tour the Golden Circle, enjoy the Blue Lagoon, and sightsee in Reykjavik and felt that was a good choice. We didn't sightsee in Hafnarfjorthur.

Perfect for those who like a mix of town and country - there was something to do for everyone! The scenery is exquisite with waterfalls, volcanos, craters, mountains, black sand beaches, seals and bird-life and in town a great mix of shopping, bars, restaurants and coffee shops. It’s easy to get around with a car. Recommend ‘Icelandic Street Food’ for traditional food and ‘Sandholt’ for hot chocolate and pastries ‘Loo Koo Mas’ for the most amazing mini donuts and ‘Mama Rykjavik’ for excellent vegan food.

Hlid Fisherman's Village had lots of "viking" character with some very interesting maritime realia, close proximity to Icelandic horses, heritage chickens, a koi pond, cedar sauna and two rooftop hot tubs. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable and the view was to the sea.

We are use to very large rooms with kitchens in our hotel room. While we vacationed in Iceland we stayed at VRBO’s but we saw this unique hotel and had to stay here and experience it! Loved walking around the hotel and the use of hot tub and sauna !!!

If you have enough time, you can easily spend two days exploring the city. Those confident in their driving skills and emergency response abilities can consider self-driving to explore the surrounding attractions, offering much more freedom. Alternatively, you can join a local tour group, which also provides a decent experience. This is especially suitable for those who don't want to drive and have limited time.

Lovely little fishing village.

Lovely little fishing village. There is a couple supermarkets and some restaurants. There is a main bus stop 2 mins from the Viking Hotel which was so handy and the stop for the Flybus coach to the airport (approx £23 pp one way) was opposite the hotel which was super handy and you get a beautiful view of the harbour whilst you wait. We got off 2 stops early from Reykjavík one day and walked back to explore and there were some lovely sights on the way. It’s a really nice place that’s neat and tidy. Probably wouldn’t need more than half a day wandering round but it’s nice to see the town.
