Everything was perfect, and the stay thoroughly exceeded our expectations! Cristina is truly the best host — charming, helpful, welcoming, and made us feel at home. Angelica was waiting for our taxi to arrive, she helped carry our heavy luggage upstairs, showed us around, made us a coffee. She also spent 30 minutes on the phone to order a taxi on departure. Carried our bags down, made sure the driver dropped us exactly where we wanted to go. Aldi supermarket 5 minute walk away. Quiet location, comfortable beds.

It's a rather remote, quiet town. Nothing to draw one to except quiet and near the Bologna airport.
I ended up choosing to heat up a packaged curry/rice meal from the supermarket, as the only other choice (since I didm't have a car) was a pizzeria.

Food is great, if you are not from Italy the taxi app, cannot be activate with a non Italian number. Took it up and they are working on it. Takes forever to get hold of BTaxi. Despite this taxi drivers were nice and professional. Not easy to get around. Also there is a city tax on hotels and a service tax when you sit down to eat. Some nice places. Overall not good service at the tourist area especially the anatomical room. Seriously rude reception. Shopping is great, overall enjoyed but will avoid going. Too expensive with hidden tax.

For some, it may be important that this place is near the airport of Bologna.
Restaurant:
From the accommodation we got a tip about the restaurant Ristorante Pizzeria "Itaca" in Calderara di Reno - excellent 👍 (10min. by a car)
Visit Bologna:
Bologna is a very busy town with narrow streets. I strongly do not recommend going into the historic centre by a car. Use the underground garages on the outskirts of the historic centre - e.g. on Via Riva di Reno and then walk

Bologna is a large and lively city with plenty to see and do. There’s no shortage of great food options for gastronomy lovers, interesting sights, and excellent shopping. The city feels reasonably clean and well-kept, and while the architecture is nice, it doesn’t stand out compared to other Italian destinations.
The biggest downsides are the traffic and public transport. Traffic jams are frequent and can be frustrating, and the bus system is unreliable, with routes that run late or seem to follow no clear schedule.
Overall, Bologna offers a solid experience with good food and lots of activity, but some practical aspects can make getting around a challenge.
