ibis Budget Auckland Airport boasts the essentials for a short stopover in the airport vicinity. Frequent airport shuttle, with the option of walking. And there was a Countdown supermarket a few minutes walk away, where I could buy ready to eat food.

Heartland Hotel Auckland Airport offers a free 24-hour airport shuttle service and air-conditioned rooms. Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool with spa pool. The shuttle from the airport was great. It would be really useful to be able to contact the hotel via WhatsApp for travelers that travel only with an e-sim as I had to get my daughter in Wellington to call for the collection. The shuttle driver was very friendly and accommodating. The beds were very comfortable, and the breakfast is outstanding.
