Breakfast is good, can feel forest fresh air. But the waitress is so ego, I don’t like to waste food so I call my driver to eat my breakfast but he full. So he want to pack the fried rice, driver asking if possible to give him plastic, but keep saying can’t , bla bla, at last not give. Just simple help one small plastic.

I really loved staying at Nadee House! Perfect for me as I don’t really like staying in hotels very much. Loved that there is a kitchen and made use of that to make my breakfast each morning.
I’ll definitely be booking here again the next time I come up to Chiang Rai.

Bambuh is located just a mere 10 km from the heart of Chiang Rai. I loved staying outside the city as Chiang Rai is a modern Thai city with a lot of traffic and 'concrete'. Obviously, there are many restaurants and nightlife but that was not what I was looking for. Bambuh was a perfect starting point for me to visit all Chiang Rai's highlights which are outside the city. A big bonus was the tranquil forest garden with bustling bird life. You just walk or cycle into the surrounding countryside, foothills, rice fields and villages.

It was a great stay for just two days (we arrived in the afternoon of a Friday and left on Saturday evening). It was long enough to see the Blue temple, the big Buddha, the white temple and the black house. We would recommend not to walk much, just use Grab for transportation between the temples.

I didn't go around the full Ban Pa Toem area, but the area around The Northern MFU was full of food places. I never had to worry about going hungry. The people were also very kind. The area seems safe enough. There was also a 7-11 nearby. The hotel was only a 10-minute walk to the gate of Mae Fah Luang University.

Just a mere 10 km from the center of Chiang Rai. Great base to explore the highlights of Chiang Rai which are all located outside the city center.
Surrounded by Thai countryside with rice-fields, villages, pineapple plantations, foothills and 2 waterfalls which you can explore by foot or bicycle. Walking distance to the famous Black House Museum (Baan Dam) and convenience stores.

A great location to see the amazing White Temple, Blue Temple and Red Temple with the Big Buddha. Various other great day trips also easily done from Chiang Rai. Stay a few nights to get the best from Chiang Rai.

What a lovely, tranquil place at the outskirts of Chiang Rai city. Great forest garden bustling with birds. We stayed in one of the traditional, Thai wooden houses but you can also stay in modern style accommodation. The owners are the sweetest couple with lots of local information and assistance.n It is definitely not the downtown area of Chiang Rai but that was what we tried to avoid. Just use a (Grab) taxi and it is easy to get there if you want it.

Not a great selection of restaurants and not a beautiful city.
The white and Blue temples are worth a visit, but the tour of the Golden Triangle is over hyped. It’s a full day tour filled with trivial things just to finally arrive at a view point to see Myanmar and Laos across the river. If staying in Chiang Mai, a trip to see the White and Blue temple with a return to Chiang Mai would be of greater value.
