I had the best two nights' sleep that I've ever had in a hotel. I'm sensitive to noise yet for some reason I always expect to sleep well in a hotel, then I remember when I get there that it's never possible because of other guests always making noise in their rooms, creaky floors, doors slamming or noisy conversations in the hallways.
I chose this hotel as it's near the airport ($15 Lyft ride away) and although you'd expect noise from planes, I didn't (not that I'd mind that).
The staff were pleasant and the place was clean. My room was apparently surrounded by pilots who "go out like a light". If you stay there, be mindful that if you keep your neighbours awake, they may be flying the plane you're on the next day.

The room and bathroom are nice, clean and well decorated. It has a fridge and microwave so very convenient. The location is not the prettiest nor the best but for one night it's fine. The parking is secured (you have to pay for it) and the communal area are pretty and well maintained.

Oakland International Airport is located 9 miles (15 kilometres) south of downtown Oakland, CA. The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) train service provides an easy connection between the airport and Coliseum Station, departing every five minutes from 08:00 to 20:00, with a journey time of eight minutes. Alternatively, a taxi will cost around USD 35–45, reaching downtown in 20 minutes.

We have lived there, so we know the ins and outs of this town. Be patient with traffic and bicycles and pedestrians. Expect somewhat higher prices as everything needs to brought in from somewhere else. There is no better place to have a family as the island is incredibly family oriented.

A cheat sheet with local places to eat would have been nice. For those of Us that are not familiar with the area it could be a little overwhelming. So a little knowledge goes a long way. It could helpi us feel more comfortable and safe. Unfortunately Per Appearances the surrounding area can feel a little rough, However at the hotel everything felt safe.

I got a chance to spend time with my youngest son. I'm gluten free and we were able to find a wonderful hole in the wall cafe called Aburaya, 362 17th street in downtown Oakland. They have the best Gluten free fried chicken I have ever tasted. Unfortunately the streets in downtown Oakland have litter eveywhere. I stayed in a nice quirky boutique hotel on 12th St. called Oaktown Roost, which was very comfortable but I had to pay $40 a night to park across the street in a locked parking lot.

Also, the fitness room was not accessible as it was being remodeled apparently. I was never told that when I booked the room.

Location was great -- many shops and restaurants nearby. We liked the layout of the room -- two queen beds with a small sitting area. Bathroom was clean and functional but a little small. Parking was a little expensive for not being "downtown" -- $40/night to park at the hotel and $25 at the nearby garage.

Alameda is a small town with all the amenities.
Alameda is a small town with all the amenities. Plenty of restaurant choices and places to see. The architectural stylings of the homes there are one of my favorite things to drive around and see. The weather is great.

I love coming to the Bay Area. It’s not cold like SF & not hot like STOCKTON the weather is jus rite. The vibes are exactly what you look for when traveling weather it’s for work or leisure you just can’t go wrong with this Bay Area city.

Castro Valley is a good place to base any trip to the Bay area. We were visiting family that live in Alameda and Castro Valley was only 25 minutes away (on a weekend) and had lots of restaurants to chose from.

Not much. just OK for 1 night sleep after arriving on a late flight. I just reserved here because hotels near the OAK airport had bad comments. Beds were OK, we were able to have a good sleep. But I did not like how we were received.
