IrelandOut of all the places I have stayed, not just in this 30 day trip to Ecuador but in my 30 years of travel I consider this place to be the best place I've ever stayed.. I was in the apartment which has everything you need and the view from the bedroom and back porch was breathtaking! You can see over the canopy to the cloud forest clad hills in the distance that surround Mindo. The lush vegetation that is close to the lodge is constantly filled with the sounds and sights of abundant bird life ... Banded Forrest falcons, Choco and yellow toucans and the most hummingbirds I ever saw at someone's feeders including the impossibly small purple throated woodstar, were all daily encounters. And to seal the deal at the bottom of the driveway is a restaurant with fantastic local dishes and hands down the best coffee I had in Ecuador (not in my travels, that would go to Kona Hawaii, sorry). In short it felt like the Gods gave me a slice of paradise for the last few days of my stay.. for which to them and my gracious and knowledgeable host German, I'm truly grateful.
