Our first time in Sri Lanka and we couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. Cinnamon Paradise is exactly that! Set amidst lush greenery, this is perfect for anyone who values peace and quiet in nature. Janaka and Champika are two brothers that run this amazing place, and were super friendly and hospitable. The breakfast everyday prepared by Champika’s wife was delicious and the fresh fruit from the garden was a nice personal touch. Also, the family of sweet cats that came to visit us everyday definitely added to this amazing experience. Definite looking forward to coming back again.

I spent a night in Serendib Villa after arriving in Sri Lanka and I can’t recommend it enough. It’s a newly built apartment, very spacious, with plenty of natural light surrounded by nature and with one room, an outdoor kitchen which has everything you need to cook and a very big balcony with very nice views to the jungle around the villa. The family running the accommodation are incredibly nice, they will make you feel at home and will support you with everything you may need. The room is very clean, it has zero humidity smell (which I find very rear in the South so it’s an important factor to consider) and it has a very big and comfortable bed and both an aircon and a fan. Regarding the location, the villa is located in Kabalana, in a very peaceful area, and just 5 minutes driving from Ahangama. If you don’t have a motorbike, the main road where the bus stop is, is located just 5 minutes walking from the villa and alternatively the owner is a tuc tuc driver himself, so he can take you anywhere you may need. In the area you can find several surf spots for beginner and advance surfers, several yoga and pilates studios, plenty of cafes, restaurants, shops, bars and several beaches where you can have a swim or watch the sunset from. On the other hand the Koggala lake is walking distance from the accommodation and is very worth the visit. If you are looking to do some sightseeing, Galle is only half an hour driving. I’ll be returning to the South soon for a longer stay since I work remotely, and without a doubt, I will stay at this apartment. It provides everything you need to feel at home in Sri Lanka, with a distraction-free environment and a reliable internet connection for remote work.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The place was clean, well-maintained, and had a nice, quiet atmosphere—perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach. The addition of a private kitchen was a big plus, giving us the flexibility to cook when we wanted. The location was ideal, within walking distance of many great restaurants, bars, and shops, making it easy to explore the area. The hosts were welcoming and made sure everything was comfortable. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and convenient spot in Ahangama!

What a wonderful experience we had staying at Walawwa Villa! The host family were very welcoming and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed when we arrived. Shortly after we arrived, the hosts organised for a Tuk Tuk to take us to lunch. We used the same Tuk Tuk driver (Chandula) for all of our trips, he was very punctual, always available and offered a lot of local knowledge for the area. We ate home cooked local Sri Lanka breakfast and dinner kindly provided by the host, including a couple of fish dishes that were fantastic! The highlight of our stay was that the hosts organised a surprise birthday party with a home baked cake for my son who turned 2 during our trip, it was completely unexpected and such a kind gesture, he loved it! We stayed in the two bedroom villa, it’s a fantastic size and had everything that we needed for a 9 day stay, including all necessary kitchen accessories to cook in the villa too. The villa was spotless when we arrived and was regularly cleaned whilst we were out. The villa is situated a 5min Tuk Tuk from Kabalana beach, perfect for surfing and similar to Ahangama town shops. There are shops nearby and a few lovely restaurants walking distance from the villa. The huge balcony is perfect to sit out at night to listen to the sounds of insects or to watch the fire flies. We travelled to a few places in Sri Lanka and our toddler usually tried to slip through the balcony railings or would fall down hills when running about but we didn’t need to worry about this at Walawwa, the balcony was secure and the ground is fenced so very secure for a wandering 2 year old. The host family were very accommodating for our toddler and spent dinners and breakfasts playing with him or showing him the garden whilst me and my husband ate which was just lovely. We would fully recommend staying at Walawwa Villa whether you’re a family, couple or on your own. We can’t wait to visit again!
