The host was the best host we ever came across. He helped us with everything we needed, including transportation, entrance to the temple, food, a boat ride, and actually everything we needed help for whether big or small. He was very nice and made sure we are not in need of anything, with a smile. Also the apartment was great and clean and space was well utilized. It had everything we needed for a short stay, like water, juice, soap, instant coffee and tea. Also location wise it was very good, and close to the bus station, the hotel where the host works and can provide help when you need it, and the Abu Simbel temple itself. It’s about 20 minutes walk to the temple, but you also can take a tuktuk if you want.

If you are visiting Abu Simbel to see the iconic temples at sunrise from the lake, or with far fewer tourists in the late afternoon, Abu Simbel Nubian Guest House is a great place to stay. They have four bedrooms, two of which seem to have attached bathrooms, and two that have adjoining bathrooms. If you reserve the upstairs bedrooms, you can have breakfast in the balcony, with a view of the outdoors. They have a washing machines that you can use to do your laundry, and you can hang the clothes to dry on the balcony (they dried overnight). Breakfast is made by a person in the community and can be Western or local style. Ramadan, the owner, went above and beyond the call of duty in providing us car transport between the guest house and temples, for example, because of the hot weather. The temples are within walking distance, maybe about 20 mins or so. He can also arrange a sunrise boat tour to see the temples from the water, which I would highly recommend. You can easily walk to the boat from the guesthouse, about 5-7 minutes. There are a few restaurants for foreigners, a couple within walking distance and a couple that are easier by car.

We was lucky to find Awi guest house . We had very peaceful time And the location of the house was very remarkable very close to the ferry boat . The owner of the house and his family was very friendly and so helpful . They organized for us a boat trip to the nubian village with a fair price . Definitely we will come back to stay here again .

Osama is very friendly and helpful, you can contact him in advance if you need any extra support from him, like booking tickets or guides. His apartment is clean and tidy, the bedrooms are big. It’s a good choice if you just want to spend one night to fully enjoy Abu Simbel. The apartment is in a quiet place near the downtown area and the temple, easy to buy stuffs in the market or go to local restaurant. Osama also offers a good local breakfast at the time of your request. BTW the market owned by an old couple near the apartment has fair price for water and food.

The outside was very ugly but the inside was very modern. I loved the TV and the wi-fi was AMAZING😁 plenty of space and beds. The view is amazing! Dislike: the owner can improve the cleaning.

In front of the river, there is a nice café where you can enjoy tea by the Nile. I will definitely come back again. The place is very clean, the reception is great, and everything is well-organized and comfortable.

Booked here last minute as it had a cheap price, trusting the single review on booking.com Tuk tuk driver took is to location on map where we contacted the owner, Aladin -who speaks good English. He arrived quickly to let us in and was very welcoming. The room was not prepared to normal standard as we only booked an hour before arriving. Aladin wished us we'll for our day, explaining the room would be ready on our return. He also offered any help needed, to just call him. He is also a local guide. Returning in the evening the room was beautiful, cold water in fridge and a range of teas and coffee there for us. Towels, soap and shampoos all provided, as well as plush sleeping blankets, pillows and very comfortable beds. A few mosquitos, which may have entered through the bathroom fan was our only complaint. Happily no barking dogs at night, and once everyone settled into their houses, no noise from outside. The call to prayer is most special here, lie most places from 5am. Breakfast was delivered to our room at our requested time. Simple, and satisfying. Aladin has very aspirational plans to set up a small museum to display his connections to the Nubian culture. 5 minute walk from town centre. 15 minute walk to bus station. And 20 min walk to Abel Simbel site. I would highly recommend this place. Don't think twice just because there are not many reviews. It is not so well signed, or known by tuk tuks, but is super easy to get to. When you arrive at tree on street, it is to the right and near the water. Thank you Aladin. All the best. 🙏🏻🌹
