We booked it for 3 nights as our final destination in Iceland and it was a very good decision. It is amazing waking up in the morning, opening the doors and hearing nothing but the sheep and the birds. From here You can reach Borgarnes and Akranes pretty fast and go for lunch or dinner or just a quick sightseeing of those places. Pro tip: in Akranes you can visit the Gudlaug bath and have a nice dip in the warm pool and after that, cool off in the ocean. Just 2 km away is the public pool where you can go and enjoy your time swimming in the 25m long 35°C pool or just relax in one of the hot tubs which is heated by the hot spring nearby. The cottage looks small from the outside but on the inside it is amazing. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. It even offered drinking chocolate, noodles, salt, pepper, other spices and things. The bed is very nice, there is a cupboard with drawers for the clothes. Outside, enough parking space is available and even a charging station is available. Also, worth a mention, this cottage offers one of the fastest internet connections we encountered in Iceland with a fiber connection and speeds of about 250Mbps for up- and download. If the weather is nice, you can sit outside, enjoy the view and silence. 2 times we had the farmers friendly dog visit us for some belly rubs and to make our day. On the last day we met the farmer who rents out these cottages and he was very nice and warm person. We can highly recommend a stay here especially if You’re looking for a place to chill and relax.

Check in instructions were clear. The host was very responsive whenever we reached out for any assistance. Although we did not check in early but they accommodated our request when we raised one. Kirkjufell's view from one of the rooms is just out of this world! Totally recommended. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

The place is very comfortable cozy, clean, and spacious. It even has a separate tv room equipped with a massage chair! Its location is very well situated, close to the main road and nearby facilities and tourist attractions especially near the Kirkjufell. The owner is super kind. I’d forgot my purse at the place and left for Reykjavik. I didn’t realize that I had left it there until I’ve reached the town and the owner massaged me. I was so upset and was tired from the driving. As it was my last leg of the two weeks road trip and I was about to catch the plane home the next morning so didn’t want to go back to get it. Even though I had my credit cards and some cash in my purse I was about to let them go and told the owner to please destroy the cards for me. The owner instead told me to hold on and give her time to ask around if anyone she knows is traveling to Reykjavik. I was so glad when she messaged me that her sister is visiting her daughter and would be happy to bring my purse with her and meet at an N1 gas station. I was super lucky that the owner was so nice and I felt very appreciative. It was very kind gesture and I don’t know if I’ve left my purse at some other places, I would get it back. So I would highly recommend this place. My time in Iceland was amazing and the trip ended perfectly with this place the it’s wonderful owner.
