The entire resort is extremely well managed, maintained and is staffed with very professional employees. The beach hut is spacious, well laid out and steps away from the Wai reef. My son and I swam with turtles, stingrays, cuttlefish and thousands of other fish! We enjoyed getting to know Siti and Hana. They served our delicious meals everyday. They are friendly and cheerful, will know your name from the start. When I booked this resort, the owner/manager was responsive right away and throughout. The resident manager Restu is excellent also. I have food allergies and they accommodated me without issues. Restu coordinated our pick up from a different homestay an hour away and our drop off back to Sorong after our stay. The transportation was punctual and professional. If you love sunsets, sunrises and the night sky - you will get your fill here. They are seen very well from the main dock.

My wife and I recently stayed at Tabari Dive Lodge, and it was nothing short of magical. The lodge is tucked away in a quiet, peaceful location with its own private beach, offering the perfect escape from the hustle of everyday life. Every meal was exceptional—fresh, flavourful, and beautifully prepared. Our fist meal the evening we arrived was grilled stuffed King Prawns!! One unforgettable detail: while dining, we watched black-tip reef sharks and moray eels gliding beneath us in the water, It was like dining in an aquarium. The staff went above and beyond. When my wife wasn’t feeling well, they brought her meals to her in bed and even made her a soothing homemade ginger tea. Their kindness and attention made all the difference. Special thanks to Bridget, the owner, who was always around and ready to help with anything we needed. Her warmth and hospitality made us feel truly at home. As for the diving—absolutely world class. We experienced so many unforgettable moments, including a giant manta ray that hovered above us—a true bucket list moment! Even snorkeling just off the beach was incredible. It felt like a family. We all sat together every night and talked about our days, our dives, and future plans. I made lifelong friendships. The dive center is everything I wanted, small groups, lots of dive sites.

Batanta Panorama Guest' Hause ligt in Pulau Batanta. Deze accommodatie bevindt zich aan het strand en biedt een privéstrand en een terras. Vooraf twijfelden we of het de moeite waard zou zijn om naar Batanta te komen. Achteraf zijn we heel blij dat we dat gedaan hebben, en dat we daarbij voor de homestay van Jems gekozen hebben. Er wordt gezegd dat toerisme in Raja Ampat nog in ontwikkeling is (en dat klopt), maar Jems en z'n familie zijn heel gastvrij. Hij heeft zich ingeleefd in onze wensen, was super flexibel en altijd vriendelijk. Z'n Engels is ook beter dan gemiddeld. Er is geen vaste lijst met trips (al zijn een wandeling naar de waterval en een boottocht om met manta's te snorkelen wel standaard geloof ik) maar als je laat zien waar je interesse ligt dan maakt Jems er een tour van. Wij wilden graag dugongs, wobbegongs en vogels zien. Jems wist waar ze te vinden waren en deed z'n uiterste best voor ons om ze te laten zien. Als bonus vonden we ook een koeskoes tijdens een van de boottochten. Oh en aangezien de veerboot naar Waisai ons absoluut niet bevallen was, hebben we Jems gevraagd om ons rechtstreeks naar Sorong te brengen. Dat ging prima, en onderweg konden we zelfs nog even stoppen op Wai om baby-kokoskrabben (nog steeds gigantisch) te zien. Verder is de natuur echt prachtig, zoals op wel meer plekken in Raja Ampat overigens. De jungle is nog zoals het hoort te zijn: zelfs de lokale bevolking komt op veel plekken niet. Een paar minuten lopen van de homestay bevindt zich een klein dorpje. Daar zou je in theorie ook beter internetsignaal moeten kunnen hebben (er staat namelijk een telefoonmast), maar wij misten het niet dus hebben het niet getest. Vanaf de veranda en het restaurant hebben we meermaals dolfijnen, adelaars, papegaaien en heel veel springende vissen gezien. Het eten was gevarieerd, smaakvol, goed gekruid en het kwam in grote porties. Eén avond werden we ook getrakteerd op traditionele muziek en dans. De bedden hebben een degelijke klamboe, en voor zover we gezien hebben staan alle bedden op poten.

Paparisa Homestay in Kri biedt accommodatie alleen voor volwassenen met een tuin, een privéstrand en een terras. Je kunt genieten van het uitzicht op de zee. Words can't describe how amazing the experience was. Paparisa is a brand new, small, private and secluded homestay with the nicest houses in Kri Island by far (compared to all the other homestays). The place has five "resort level" cosy houses with ensuite semi-open air bathroom (rare in Raja Ampat), big nice comfortable beds with mosquito net, a small private terrace in each house to relax or to watch the sunset and a small restaurant to enjoy your meals (they are building a nice sunset view big restaurant which they said will be ready by September 2025). They provide towels, toilet paper and linen so no need to bring yours. They have some toiletries but better bring some extra shampoo and shower gel for your convenience. Electricity is available almost half of the day and it is more than enough to charge anything in your room! The sea is just three meters from your door so you can easily swim whenever you want. This is also very convenient for diving or excursion's pickups as the boats pick you up straight from your door to go for diving or for a trip! Also, in walking distance you can snorkel in very amazing home reefs on your own. Paparisa rents for a small amount of money snorkeling equipment and these guys can also arrange several snorkeling trips to anywhere in the area. They also have contacts around so don't hesitate to ask them for anything you need! The communication before arrival through WhatsApp was exceptional and they have helped us a lot with our planning (the boat from Waisai to Kri arranged by them and a lot more). The food in the place is very tasty and feels like home and they are willing to cater any special dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan etc).

Our 3 nights stay at Mares Homestay was absolutely wonderful! The level of cleanliness was exceptional — everything spotless and perfectly maintained. The family was a dream of hospitality, and their children were truly a gift to be around. The place itself is not only beautiful but also very well equipped, and the food was incredibly good — every meal felt homemade with care. Towels and bed sheets were very good quality, and we appreciated the mosquito nets for extra comfort. We truly cannot recommend this place enough! Thank you!
