I have absolutely nothing bad to say about our stay in the Hengifoss lodge. It's a dream to stay here. Once entered you're greeted by the warm smell of ember caused by the wood that was used to make this house. The colours and the layout of the room is incredibly cosy. The fireplace keeps the house (almost too) warm, and the window + terrace give an exceptional view over the lake and mountains. The hosts are also amazing and gave us the feeling that we're not only welcome, but also that they really understand why we chose to go to Iceland. We asked for help with our fireplace and the host, Isabelle, came to the rescue. She tried to help us to lit a fire but to no avail. We did however have a really good conversation. However when she left, we were content enough. Yet still she knocked on the door and winked us to come over. She told us enthusiastically that the Northern Lights were dancing and fully visible, we had to come outside! The next morning it was kind of raining, a little bit. But the sun was also shining through the clouds. The husband, Steff, called me when I was standing on the terrace. He said: "There is a rainbow there!" and pointed towards slightly behind the house I was standing in front of. I walked to the side and indeed saw a beautiful rainbow. This might not say much to other people wanting to stay there. But to me it feels like these people have such a connection with Iceland, its beauty and understand that we are there for the same connection, they told us to look at beautiful views which Iceland offers, and we were delighted to follow their guidance. Thank you Isabelle and Steff, for the warm welcome. Whenever we're in Iceland and planning to go near Eggs, we will definitely make use of your beautiful little houses.

Hengifosslodge Skáldahús is gelegen in Egilsstaðir, op 5,9 km van Hengifoss-waterval, en biedt gratis WiFi, gratis privéparkeren en uitzicht op het meer. Daniel is een zeer goede gastheer die je veel over de omgeving kan vertellen. Het was een ruim appartement met een mooi uitzicht en van alle gemakken voorzien, de bedden lagen heerlijk.

Ásbrandsstadir Cottages ligt in Vopnafjörður met uitzicht op de bergen en heeft gratis WiFi. Wat een leuk verblijf! Alles wat wij nodig waren was aanwezig! Super schoon, mooi afgewerkt, heerlijk rustig en een aardige eigenaar. Zelf het noorderlicht kunnen spotten. 👌

Hotel Breiddalsvik ligt in het kustplaatsje Breiddalsvík en beschikt over een groot terras met een open haard en kamers met satelliet-tv en een bureau. Gastvrijheid, schoon, keuken faciliteiten, heel knus!

Álfheimar Hotel heeft een tuin, een terras, een restaurant en een bar in Borgarfjordur Eystri. Deze accommodatie heeft familiekamers en een speeltuin. The wooden construction had 10 rooms in a row. Our room was spacious, well decorated and had comfortable beds. Breakfast was very tasty and of good quality. We are sorry that we did not eat in the restaurant as the menu looked delicious. Location is next to the puffin.
