Set right on the beach, Weligama Bay Marriott Resort & Spa offers beach front rooms, a year-round children's pool, relaxation pool and outdoor lap pool. We had a nice welcome upon checking in, and the instructions given by the front desk were very clear. We also had our own guest relations officer which was a nice touch. The breakfast buffet was pretty awesome, I loved the selection of curries to go with the Sri Lankan breakfast items, and they even had rice congee which was a first on our trip for us. The room was veryyy comfortable and the bed was perfectly firm. There was a slight problem with the blinds in the room when we checked in, but they got it fixed within 15 minutes. I used the gym in the morning and was pleasantly surprised to find barbells available which is great. The equipment is well kept and there is a good variety of machines available. The location of the hotel is perfect if you plan to do some surfing, it's easy to find a surf school just on weligama beach, steps away from the hotel. We used the spa on our last morning there and I had a good experience with the therapist and the booking of the spa session was also very seamless. Overall it was a great experience from all touch points, from the check in, to the in room service, restaurant, gym, spa, and also at check out. It's a five star hotel so of course it's going to be expensive, but worth the price if you want to have a relaxing holiday by the beach.

About the room: Attention to Detail: From smooth AC performance to beautifully appointed bathrooms, strong showers, and well-placed plug sockets, everything functioned seamlessly in an environment that looks beautiful yet remains highly practical ( room number 7, I highly recommend). Location: the hotel offers good location to sandy shores. I easily rented a scooter with Enriquo ( the owner, he helped me rent it ) and rode it right to the beach for surfing. ( you can check in how far is it from the beach online ) Public area: One standout feature is the spacious rooftop area—a peaceful, open-design terrace offering panoramic sea views. It’s a wonderful spot to relax, read, or enjoy a meal above the treetops.

We were warmly welcomed from the very first moment and really have nothing bad to say. The location is perfect, and in terms of value for money, there’s really no reason to complain. Super friendly host who even treated us to a real Sri Lankan breakfast. Definitely recommend!

And special mention to the hosts, they are all wonderful people. They made us feel at home.

The chill lounge was great for working remotely and the staff had such a good vibe! Max the owner is amazing, always has good tips to give regarding activities, locations and surfing.

Coastline was the most dreamy hotel imaginable. We were welcomed so kindly on our arrival, riding the funicular is a very fun experience. The room was immaculate and clean. Extremely comfortable bed. This hotel takes sustainably seriously with its shampoo refills, hand towels and reusable straws - which is nice to see. The jungle area is a lovely quiet place. I used this place to study and found it very peaceful. This hotel had Two pools - both unique, never overcrowded with Well maintained longue beds. Breakfast daily was incredible, fresh fruit, great eggs and baked goods. When we had gone out early one day for whale watching the team allowed us to have breakfast post breakfast serving hours. And a special birthday was celebrated by the whole staff including the talented chefs- made me feel very special - thank you. The bar on the top floor is a great space day and night! we had wonderful cocktails here - my pina colda was the best ever! All the staff are so friendly and kind. Special mention to the bar/restaurant manager who always knew what’s was happening and predicted ahead your needs. Already planning our return to this magnificent hotel. Thank you all at Coastline for a very special honeymoon experience.
