Facing the beachfront, The Residence Maldives at Dhigurah offers 5-star accommodation in Gaafu Alifu Atoll and features free bikes, outdoor swimming pool and fitness centre. Providing a restaurant, the property also has a garden, as well as a sauna. The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, a kids' club and free WiFi. Simply put, this is a truly magnificent place to stay in Maldives and there’s hardly anything one can compliant about. We visited The Residence in February, and it has been a fabulous experience. The island is conveniently located within a short boat ride from the local airport of Koodoo but at the same time warrants a feeling that you’re in a secluded paradise hideaway. It’s large enough so that you never feel it’s crowded and at the same time small enough to get from one end to another within a few-minutes bike ride (well-maintained bikes are provided complimentary for each villa). Beaches are beautiful with powder like sand, clean (though we’ve occasionally seen some debris) and the whole island enjoys lush greenery with hundreds of palm trees providing much desired shade and the jungle-like experience. The west side of the island seems a bit prettier due to spectacular green-blue shades of water; the east side of the island has seagrass at the bed which although very much needed to protect local ecosystems provides less spectacular water colours. The ability to go to the adjacent island via the wooden bridge connecting them is really nice and you can enjoy the sun at the sand bar located in between. The staff has been extremely nice and helpful, from the moment we’ve been taken over at the Male airport, through the journey to the island, at the reception, restaurants, water sports centre and everywhere else, we’ve always felt well taken care of. The villas are clean, extremely spacious (bathroom area is enormous), well maintained and equipped. Beds are comfortable, there’s plenty of seating area, AC and Wi-Fi work well, mini fridge is restocked every day. Again, the lush greenery separating villas in a very natural way provides privacy and shade, and most importantly the sea view is not obstructed. The private pool is amazing and provide the opportunity to cool off in the heat of the sun, at 1.

Overlooking the clear blue waters and partially submerged in the swimming pool, The Beach Bar serves light meals and island-style cocktails. Other dining options include The Dining Room, The Sunset Grill and The Falhumaa, which serves an array of fine international cuisines. The whole hotel, staff and food was outstanding.

Providing free WiFi, a sun terrace with a swimming pool, private beach area and garden, Kondey Villas is located in Kondey. Featuring full-day security, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. The accommodation provides airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. Outstanding experience! Kondey island is a beautiful, almost untouched place. We were looking for a peaceful, quiet escape - and we found it. It takes an extra domestic flight to get to the island, but it’s 100% worth it. Villas are recently built, in a great condition and very comfortable. Bed is huge and showers are great. There is a pool, dining area. There is a bikini beach 10 mins from villas. It’s clean and usually empty. Kondey is also a great option for snorkeling. Sunsets are just incredible. Ahmed was the best host! We took care of us, always being nice, helpful and we felt like at home. He is a nice person, and he made our stay really special. He also knows everything about the island, atoll and Maldives. Dolphin cruise went great, we saw hundreds of dolphins. Chef and food were great, we loved it! Everyday fresh, tasty meals. Mostly local but and regional. You won’t get bored! Thank you!

Offering quiet street views, Suncoral Maldives in Kondey provides accommodation, a garden and a shared lounge. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. The guest house offers garden views, a sun terrace, a 24-hour front desk, and free WiFi is available throughout the property.

For guests with children, the guest house features a baby safety gate and babysitting service. A bicycle rental service and a private beach area are featured at Suncoral Maldives. We were looking for an authentic Maldivian experience, unspoilt island, beaches and reefs and we were extremely lucky to find it on Kondey island at Suncoral guesthouse. It is a beautiful guesthouse with large, perfectly clean rooms and excelelnt food. But more importantly, the owner, Shameem, will go out of his way for you, take you snorkeling, fishing, scubadiving, deserted islands and more. This was the best place we've been in the Maldives and amongst the best ever!

Dining options include REEF that serves a selection of Asian delights, SURF that serves grilled sea food and Pizza Kaage, where guests can enjoy light meals and get takeaway pizzas. Iru Bar is a beach bar whereas cocktails, drinks and snacks can be enjoyed at Thari Bar while the sun shines and beyond at the pool bar. In my opinion, this is the best place on earth to relax and disconnect from the craziness of everyday life. This is also the only resort in the Maldives that I have no hesitation returning to. The staff, the food and the facilities are fabulous, but the best thing about this place is the house reef with its beautiful marine life. Nothing beats swimming with and amongst the beautiful fish and countless other sea creatures. You can't experience that in places offering just a blue lagoon. The water is crystal clear when the weather is good, the sand is soft, and you are not stepping - and shouldn't anyway - on any corals. You have to swim a bit to get to them. The staff at the restaurant are lovely and very happy to accommodate any special requests guests might have, but quite frankly, I doubt they have to do it often as the variety of dishes offered is plentiful and very well prepared. I love staying at this resort and will be heading there again in a few days' time. I can hardly wait! I highly recommend this place to anyone wishing to visit the Maldives and have the best experience possible.
