We really enjoyed our stay. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and large. It was family-friendly (we brought an infant), and the owners/staff were friendly. Breakfast was tasty English fare. We liked the location also: close to Whitby, feels very private and secluded in the woods, but less than a 15-min walk from the closest pub. Would recommend!

Rooms had been recently refurbished and looked great. Very comfortable beds. Lots of hot water. Views straight into the harbour. Unlimited Yorkshire Tea, penguins and wagon wheels 😊. Location perfect for wandering into town, the port or upto the abbey.

Location: right in the centre, close to 199 steps, plenty of good places to eat and drink close by, at the same time accommodation is hidden inside a quite narrow street. We stayed in Room #2 facing a nice and peaceful inside yard of neighbouring accommodation. Room: not too small, just a decent size, at the same time with a spacious bathroom and a big shower (at least twice bigger than what you usually can see in similar accommodations). Very nice amenities - hot chocolate, coffee, Yorkshire tea, milk, 2 cups, 2 water glasses and even a wine opener and 2 wine glasses! Communication: was on a very high and well-organised level - from messages with all necessary instructions through Booking messenger to a folder in the room with a warm welcoming message from the owners, recommendations about the city and even a breakfast menu. Small details: the place is very warm and cosy, with a lot of nice details and decor in the common area and room. Breakfast in Sanders Yard: didn't try unfortunately, were still too full after dinner, but menu looks good, prices are average for that area but in-house guests have a 10% discount. One more bonus - direct access from the accommodation to the cafe. Parking: we got a message prior to our arrival about possible places where to leave a car. Car parking on Church Street is very small, no chance to catch a spot there on weekends or bank holidays. We left our car in the parking near Abbey, the price is the same (9£ / 24h) but much more space.
